25.01.2022 Friday field photos. Feel free to tag/share, and if you get really excited, head for peakpictures.net ;-)

16.01.2022 I came short of the esplanada today but had an epic flight with @steveblenk. The retrieve is another story to come soon.

14.01.2022 We’re here in China for the first 2018 Moyes China Hang Gliding Invitational Tournament hosted by Moyes China’s Longfei Yang and the Wozaifei Hang Gliding Club .... We’re here with 5 Aussies and 15 local pilots from all over China. Longfei has 2 Dragonfly’s and a fantastic location here in the Guyuan County, Hebei Province , 300 km north west of Beijing. The flight park borders on the edge of Inner Mongolia with wide open plains and undulating hills. The altitude here is 4700’ / 1700 m asl. Longfei has kindly supplied our 5 Aussies with new Geckos aptly naming them the Gecko Gang in Guyuan. Rob de Groot, Steve Docherty , Rohan Taylor, Brad Porter and Harrison Rowntree are all excited to be here for what we hope to be some record breaking flights. Yesterday’s practice day was hampered by high cloud and overdevelopment. We start today with forecast light winds and 6000’ agl with cues already forming at 9 am. Stay tuned ! See more

06.01.2022 Task 1 at the 2018 Moyes China Tournament Lowdown from Harrison. Launch was really good, Longfei dropped me in a good thermal. It was very cold in the air, abou...t 0 degrees. I hooked up with Rohan over the flight park, we waited for the others but it too cold to keep waiting and we left on the 2nd start. At the first glide we got down low but both managed to get back up and managed to stay high for the rest of the race. I got a break on Rohan on one climb and managed to stay a thermal ahead. I had a really fun glide into goal at the flight park. This was my first inland flight on the Gecko 155 and I really liked thermalling it, it seems to lock itself in on a bank really nicely, so it makes it easy to climb fast. Both Rohan and I made goal. Brad and Steve landed around where Rohan and I were low at the start. Rob had a reflight and got away late. All the Aussie’s towed first. The day was pumping and we could have flown a 100 km triangle on the Gecko’s easily. See more

03.01.2022 More stunning photos from Nepal. Thank you Max!

02.01.2022 New record task set in a competition of 388.9 km Forbes to Manilla. 18 pilots( TBC) made goal. Will know tomorrow how many got close and how many went further! Stay tuned.....
