25.01.2022 Slight mid-air collision, tailplane vs propellor! The covering on the left side has been removed to check for further damage, but the damage from the collision is obvious on the right! The plane was "landed" safely, no damage to the other aeroplane.

23.01.2022 The VMAA trophy is done for 2015. LVMAC finished a respectable 2nd place. Congrats to the VARMS guys for winning this year's competition. A big thanks to the VMAA for organising a fantastic weekend and the NFG guys for hosting it.

20.01.2022 The first day of competition at the VMAA trophy is complete. The club is running in second place overall at the moment, we will see how we go tomorrow.

19.01.2022 Quick vid of today's combat competition. Congrats to Roy White for the win.

15.01.2022 Today the club hosted a fly day as part of the Australian Model Flying Day. This event was held to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. The day was a great success! We had over 30 pilots registered, flying starts at 9:00am and did not finish until after 3:00pm. A huge thank you to Wayne Lewis and Chris Davenport for organising the event!

13.01.2022 Awesome weather today at Lake Narracan, with a good turn out of members enjoying the still air.

10.01.2022 As you would all no doubt be aware, the global Covid-19, or Coronavirus, pandemic has hit Australia hard. The efforts by our governments to control this terrible outbreak are continuing to take their toll on our economy and our freedoms, but the spread of Covid-19 needs to be controlled. As a result, both the VMAA and the MAAA have outlined recommendations for our activities in line with government controls and rules. Please, everyone, abide by and obey these rules. For every...one's health and safety. I have copied a section of a club e-mail from Wayne Lewis with important information regarding this difficult time.... ...... As we move further into the COVID-19 pandemic I think it is time to assess our own Club situation. As you would know the MAAA have put out a flyer on their situation and we should be using their guidelines for the Club. They have the ability to do conference calls and stuff and unfortunately we don’t have that facility available to us. I think that we should have no face to face meetings unless they are in the open and we can have our 2 m spacing. The Committee will try to arrange a meeting in the near future but until then, the Monthly General Meetings, AGM and all Club Events should be cancelled until the situation improves and my guess is that it will not be until December at the earliest. Once the Committee has met we will let you know the outcomes. The experts are recommending that we all stay at home as much as possible and that is my plan for the time being. At this present time Members are free to use our outdoor sites and should be using the 2 metre spacing rule. This means no instructing or test flying someone else’s model unless you have sanitizer and alcohol wipes to clean your TX. ....... Please, everyone, follow the 2 metre separation rule, no personal contact, be careful of what you touch, and clean EVERYTHING. Unfortunately, we are coming into some of the best flying weather of the year, being Autumn, but I for one will not be attending the flying field until the Coronavirus spread has been contained. My worst fear is that I may be a carrier without knowing it and pass it onto someone vulnerable to the virus. I hope to see you all at the field in a few months. Be safe. Thank you. Paul.

10.01.2022 The club Christmas lunch on Sunday was a success. A good turn out of members enjoyed a great lunch and a few laughs at the Yallourn Nth hall.

09.01.2022 It was exciting to be back at the field for the first Sunday since the Covid-19 restrictions were eased. The weather did not disappoint either!

08.01.2022 A good turn out of members today, for the September club fly day. It was a windy and cool day, but the sun made brief appearances and plenty of flying was done. The Combat Cup was run after lunch, with three aircraft destroyed in spectacular mid-air collisions. Congrats to Wayne Lewis for winning the event.

02.01.2022 Something to keep you entertained while we can't go flying... the Battle of Britain movie in 1/72 scale.

02.01.2022 The annual Col Cliff Memorial Trophy fun-fly event was held today at Lake Narracan. 9 pilots competed in windy and challenging conditions. Fun-fly events like this are a great way to enhance your flying skills and build confidence in handling aircraft in spins, glides, touch and goes, spot landings and dead-stick landings. Thanks to our time keepers, organisers and participants for making it a fun day. The results of the day were-... 1st place - Bill Burrows 2nd place - Mick Gunn 3rd place - Paul Mitchell See more
