25.01.2022 Challenging morning with low clear water and spooky fish but good casts were rewarded. A move to broader water in the arvo resulted in a fun hatch and a serious arse kicking on more than one occasion for Phil. Good times!! #flyfishing #newzealand #schooled @hurleys_fly_fishing

25.01.2022 The three of us have been fishing together for over 20 years. These days, it’s all about venturing further and exploring new water.

25.01.2022 Not funny little fake bug... not funny. #notfunny

24.01.2022 Made the most of the opportunities we had yesterday with fish keyed in on both grubs and mayfly nymphs. A great morning session turned into a tricky afternoon with very spooky fish requiring a good first up cast. Boys did well. #flyfishing #newzealand #spookytrout #boo @hurleys_fly_fishing

23.01.2022 Great casting lesson tonight with Paul. Cracker arvo for it. #flysouthguiding #flyfishing #casting #getyourflyon #devilbendreservoir #morningtonpeninsula

22.01.2022 Such an awesome day today on a stretch of water that demands a lot of the angler. The day epitomised what I love about fishing in NZ, teamwork. #flyfishing #newzealand #teamwork #massiverewards @hurleys_fly_fishing

20.01.2022 Go easy on yourself and each other. We need to reset our definition of what’s good. Right now if we have health, a home and peace of mind, that’s good. Be sure to let someone know if you don’t. Take care.

18.01.2022 John’s first experience in NZ was a ripper. Quickly identifying he needed to work on his cast we spent the morning with a relaxed casting lesson fishing a likely riffle. With his timing and presentation improving we worked a tailout line up of small spinner feeders. With the monkey off the back we hit the willows and he quickly upgraded to a couple of fish that allowed us to practice the skills of playing a bigger fish. Perfect training day!! Well done mate. 15.01.2022 Time spent on the water together is an opportunity to share time, experiences, ideas and our passion. Friendships are quick to form and often long lasting. This is so much bigger than the pursuit of a fish. #flyfishing #morethanfishing @flysouthguiding ... @hurleys_fly_fishing See more

13.01.2022 Hey all. Please SHARE this around as much as possible. Really would like to find this flyfisher. Cheers. #flyfishing #victoria #sharethesearch @victoriaflyfishers @morningtonpeninsulaflyfishing ... @redtagflyfishers @calderflyfishing @fisheriesvic See more

13.01.2022 Well that’s one way to get home I guess. Why take 1 flight when 3 will do. . Least I’ll be home today. #goinghome

12.01.2022 Coho on the Kitimat.

08.01.2022 Fortunate to have this when we can’t travel to the high country.

08.01.2022 Been guiding nearly everyday this year, got a day off....... and went fishing. Bloody hopeless I am. #addict

06.01.2022 This Saturday on 10BOLD. This was a ripper day on the Mataura River, South Island, NZ.

06.01.2022 The man raises some solid points.... have a look and get in touch with me directly or Hurleys Fly Fishing Australia.

05.01.2022 Hold on to the good and simple things.

04.01.2022 Good things on the horizon..... we hope. #melbourne

03.01.2022 Flicking back through my pics I came across our trip to BC last year. Whilst I didn’t get my steelhead, this Coho salmon was a highlight. Fishing a long slow pool I reached the tail out and began working the water as it picked up pace before plunging into a large chute. As the fly swung and straightened into the dangle nothing... but after hanging the fly for a few seconds I stripped hard and a bow wave charged up stream after the fly and hit hard before tail walking back across the whole river. #BC #britishcolumbia #coho #nowords

02.01.2022 Dreaming of when we might get to enjoy more days like this. #nz #flyfishing @hurleys_fly_fishing

02.01.2022 Venture into true wilderness. If you want to feel small, stand on the banks of the Skeena River, BC.

02.01.2022 Please share.... I’m looking for someone.

02.01.2022 Here’s something for us to do as a flyfishing community while stuck @ home. I found this unique dollar coin about 3 years ago. Let’s see if we can find the the adventure angler who left this coin on a rock on one of my favourite all time Vic streams. I regret having not left it there, but I’m glad it’s now given me someone to find now that I can’t be out there. So share around people I want to find the angler and go a film them fishing this beautiful stream when we can get back out there. If they can tell me where it was we’ll know we have had a win. Long shot I know but let’s try! #shareitaround #dreamstream #rockdollar

01.01.2022 Fished the rise in front of our van last night with Tash as my ghillie, catching stoneflies in the landing net in between netting fish. Despite the upsized meals on offer, small unweighted nymphs were the go. This evening the ghillie wants to swap roles! Excited.

01.01.2022 What an incredible 5 weeks it has been. Incredibly rewarding, satisfying and memorable. I have had the pleasure of sharing water with some fantastic people and helped them to achieve special things. It has been at times challenging but it maybe that my greatest challenge will be getting home to my beautiful family. Floods won’t stop me. See you soon Liv, Sam and Tash. #solucky #guiding #flyfishingforever #newzealand #mysecondhome #lovenz #takemehome @hurleys_fly_fishing
