24.01.2022 Ok, it's going to sound odd but one of my favourite moments is throwing a #Simms price tag in the bin! Why, because you know you have just invested in some premium kit. We had the new Simms Tote bag land last week and it didn't last a day before a field test. Functional and sexy. I even took it shopping today. Price is $160 and I suspect it will be a life time, one off purchase. Fully water proof, hand and big enough for all wet weather packing situations. Come check it out at https://flyworld-di.myshopify.com/ad/products/4701036216417 Here's some pics to get you thinking. Please don't judge my eating habits and I so wish I had someone snap off a pic when I was in-store at Coles shopping today to run a "spot the FlyFisho" comp.

24.01.2022 Must not run out of the Flyworld Worm Fly this summer. It's not a complicated fly, but each of the 4 elements need to be right. Hook, chenille, eyes and thread. Give us a shout if you would like to tie your own. https://flyworld.com.au/colle/saltwater-flies/products/fwwf

23.01.2022 Lightweight wading boots. We couldn't decide which was better, so the next best thing was to have both in stock for you to try.

23.01.2022 Ok guys, time to start sharing the super cool achievements from some of the "friends of FlyWorld", first up is a super cool skinny water capture of a most unusual suspect; the dusky Morwong! These fish are notoriously difficult to convince on any gear and in fact, this is the first capture that I know of that has been taken on the fly! Location: somewhere in the SW of WA, Fly: shrimp pattern, Situation; Tailing in the shallows! So cool. Congrats Glyn Hopkinson, top show! If anyone else out there has tangled with these creatures, please report back with any learning's you have had. These are very mysterious fish and we would love to hear about your experiences.

22.01.2022 Special memory from the archives. Thanks Shane Third-Fishing Nut for the epic videography.

22.01.2022 The 16 hour drive from Perth to Dampier was never going to be fun but was well worth it. We were shacked up in style on an Island in the Dampier Archipelago for nearly two full weeks. Lots was learnt and many great fish landed. Here's a a couple of snapshots with the spot light on Cobia. These fish are Brutal and if you want to learn more about them be sure to message us at #flyworld and we'll talk you through the drill.

21.01.2022 Secret south west estuary.

19.01.2022 Ok, were on again, Join myself Dan Ivanoff, owner of FlyWorld and certified fly casting instructor Graeme Hird at Clover Cottage Retreat in the beautiful South West of Western Australia for the third and final Stillwater trout fishing weekend retreat for 2020. Dates are set for the 18th - 20 th of September. The first event just passed and there were loads of learnings, laughs, fun and enjoyment had by all. We even managed to find a few mid-winter trout, mostly caught on "tec...hnical" trouting techniques, demonstrated throughout the workshop. The weekend offers top value with 2 nights accomodation, top food, workshop learnings and first class fly casting tuition; all for the lump sump of $495 per person! 14.01.2022 A weapon of mass destruction! #sage #sageflyfish #flyfishing

14.01.2022 Stuff that make flies float. Stuff that make flies sink. Some we apply on the fly, some on the leader/tippet, while other things we apply on the fly line. We haven't even covered indicators here. It's great to have so many choices, but boy does it get confusing. Get in touch with us if you need a hand sorting through all this.

13.01.2022 OK, so week two of the Exmouth hosted trips is done and dusted. Another top week was had by all and whilst the fishing was quieter than expected for the tides and time of the year, a great time was had by all and there were loads of top fish caught. Thanks to all who jumped on board. Here's some snap shot's of the great week. A big thanks goes out to the guides that made it all happen. If heading to Exy, be sure to contact us at FlyWorld or the guides directly to be set in the right direction. Ningaloo Fly Fishing Fly Fishing Frontiers Ningaloo Sportfishing Charters

13.01.2022 Ok, fresh back from the final Stillwater trout fishing workshop for 2020 at the wonderful #clovercottagesretreat and what a blast it was. We had 19 starters and I think all caught fish. What a great intro to trout fishing! Fish were caught on both wet and dry flies and the highlight for me was the number of fish that were sight fished. The food was great, accomodation fantastic and the learnings awesome. Another big thanks to Graeme Hird for the outstanding casting instruction. Everyone left at a new skill level. Also a big thanks to Liam Surrage for some awesome drone work and Dylan Thomlinson for the great fly tying demo. To all those that attended, please accept my apologies for running the indoor side of the workshop in my pyjamas, it was just to damn cosy around the fire to get changed! Here's just a few pics.

13.01.2022 Apex and Vector rods arrived last week. Very impressed with the Apex 5 & 6 weight rods. We have matching reels and lines for these rods rigged and ready to go as well. The saltwater weight rods also feel like they have a bit of punch. Rods and combos now loaded on our website.

11.01.2022 Ok, super pumped to announce that I will be presenting to the Saltwater Fly Rodders of WA club meeting on Tuesday the 1st of Sept. This talk is all about putting the pieces together for fly fishing the flats and is titled "The flats fishing jigsaw puzzle". It's set to be loads of interactive fun and learning. I hope Perth locals can make it if you can. The time is set for 7:30 pm at the Perth rowing club, alongside the canning river bridge. If your out of state, I plan to r...ole through the country when travel is safe and present to any clubs that are keen on learning and sharing. Please contact me at FlyWorld if you're interested. Looking forward to Tuesday night and BTW, CAN ANYONE GUESS THE FISH SPECIES IN THE JIGSAW PUZZLE PIC? Cheers, Dan

09.01.2022 Another great day. Ok, piggy backing of of a Stillwater trout fishing weekend at clover cottages in SW WA, I was fortunate to spend a day out with Anthony Rechichi from Great Southern Flyfishing.Pumped to report, Tony put me onto some epic winter south coast fishing. Tony is a gentlemen and a scholar. He knows the art and with 20+ years in the local area he knows the local fishery inside out. If your heading to SW WA, be sure to look him up at https://www.greatsouthernflyfishing.com.au Here are a few pics from a great day on the water.

09.01.2022 Happy customer Brett, leaving the store with some sweet Simms kit. With the integrated gravel guards the new flyweight wet wading socks will no doubt get the job done comfortably. #simms #simmsflyfishing #flatsflyfishing #flyfishing

09.01.2022 Ok, so this is what it looks like when a regular fly decides to occupy the go pro screen on the release. Let's call it, "Blow fly, blow's a great shot"! Tusky release fail, Damn!

08.01.2022 Not to make light hearted fun of a terrible situation but passing on a big the thanks to David and Patricia for springing in some covid fun into FlyWorld this week. Top show folks, thanks.

07.01.2022 Sad to see the first week of back to back hosted trips to Exmouth come to an end but it was a blast with loads of laughs, fish and learnings had by all. 06.01.2022 Rio Saltwater Mono is what we use to build our own tapered saltwater leaders. It has just the "right" stiffness to match our favourite saltwater lines. A well constructed tapered leader allow for better presentation of the fly.

05.01.2022 Time for another epic capture, but this time it's not from a customer but from a supplier. Here's Paul Willis, the Daiwa rep in WA (along with many other brands) with a fish of a lifetime, caught somewhere in the Exmouth Gulf. This one is in a league of own. Top show Paul. #bluebastard

05.01.2022 Ok, the world is upside down and inside out! It’s day 2 of lockdown here in Perth. Roads are almost empty, FlyWorld is empty and now there is ash falling on the city from a very serious fire looming in the outskirts. Stay safe all.
