24.01.2022 HAVE YOUR SAY -MARANOA REGIONAL COUNCIL ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE. Maranoa Regional Council invites the community to submit feedback on the draft (high level) overview of the proposed organisational structure. Councillors are scheduled to make a decision regarding the organisational structure at an upcoming meeting on either Wednesday, 27 January 2021 or Thursday, 28 January 2021. 20.01.2022 AUSTRALIA DAY CELEBRATIONS 2021 Celebrate Australia Day on Tuesday, 26 January with Australia Day Awards and plenty of activities happening around the Maranoa to keep everyone entertained! Australia Day is a time for all Australians to come together to reflect, respect and celebrate.... Events will be held across the region in Mitchell, Surat, Wallumbilla/Yuleba/Jackson, Roma and Injune. This year the region will have three Australia Day Ambassadors joining our celebrations! These special guests are: Justine Christerson, Founder of Breaking Down the Barriers (a rural patient support program) Olivia Hargroder, Actor, community advocate and has addressed the United Nations Taj Pabari, is one of Australia’s youngest and most successful social entrepreneurs. Mayor Tyson Golder said Australia Day is a great time to come together as a community and celebrate those who have gone above and beyond in our region. There is a lot planned across the Maranoa, with free pool entry, Aussie BBQs, games and so much more, Cr Golder said. 17.01.2022 FACE MASKS TO BE WORN AT ROMA AIRPORT. Maranoa Regional Council would like to advise residents that the new Queensland Government Mandatory Face Mask Direction has come into effect. This means face masks are to be worn at all times throughout Queensland airports, including Roma Airport. This new Direction introduces the following requirements:... Face masks are to be worn at all times throughout Queensland airports, both indoors and outdoors. Face masks are to be worn on domestic commercial flights in Queensland, including when the aircraft is landing at or taking off from a Queensland airport. Face masks are to be worn while an aircraft is in Queensland airspace. Transport drivers driving passengers to and from quarantine hotels are to wear a mask while transporting passengers. People who have been directed to quarantine are to wear a face mask from the time they leave the airport until they arrive at their allocated room at a quarantine hotel. Face masks will not be mandatory for children under the age of 12, for persons with a particular medical condition or disability, or if it is not safe to do so.
