24.01.2022 Stay... very... still , no one will notice you champ Did you ever notice that the more you look around the more you see . I mean, it's not rocket science, but often we are so focussed on the end goal that we don't notice the details, the opportunities, the "better way" . I've done it, more than once . Of course, it's also because we're often time poor or even that we just don't know what to look for . Especially with the big decisions, like when you're buying a home o...r a business or a car. It's easy to just take "the easy" . But, "the easy", is not necessarily the best way, for you So when it comes to those big decisions, that involve borrowing money , using a loan finance professional, a good one , to look for the "better way" for you , just makes sense really Aren't these little fellas just awesome by the way . I sat right next to and almost on him, without noticing, at first . He was so well camouflaged and was definitely not moving unless absolutely necessary. 20.01.2022 Well, this week has had more ups and downs than a Devils Thumb hike Fortunately, mostly up Letting clients know that I can't find a loan finance solution for them, is one of the worst parts of what I do . Fortunately, it doesn't happen often, but it still stinks ... Mostly there's always a solution . Even if that is working with a client to get them in the right position for the future. Life is rarely yes or no, black or white and organising loans for people is no different (I may have just typed that in a Morgan Freeman voice ). So, Friday arvo my old friend, we meet again . 20.01.2022 But the view mate , the view Cannabullen Falls hike on Sunday was a bit up and down, had a few leeches, a few difficult crossings and thanks to a little , the downhill was a bit treacherous... pretty much how my weeks going so far It'd be fair to say that my patience with bad customer service, isn't always my strongest point . Particularly when it affects my clients ... 19.01.2022 Once upon a time, in an alternate universe... Staying in the moment, regardless of whether that moment involves work, play or just relaxing, hasn't always come naturally . I'm aware of it, suppose that's half the battle This pic, taken a couple of weeks ago, was one time when I managed it ... It wasn't that hard to be honest . 17.01.2022 Oh yeh mate, one of my favourite phone calls, ever A lot of what I do as a loan finance broker is intangible "behind the scenes" stuff, like research , countless phone calls & emails trying to find solutions , following up people , yelling at my office equipment (someone has to cop it ) etc etc... So when you get feedback from a client, like this awesome one, then it does more than put a "smile on my dial". It reinforces my why ... 05.01.2022 Stand up mate, right up, now give yourself a slap and get on with it Ever have those days/weeks/months/years (Covid) where everything you do seems to go south and it feels like everyone is against you No , great, well you obviously don't work as a loan finance professional then ... Dealing with large organisations aka banks, regularly, without losing your , takes a special kinda skill It helps to think about the outcome for the client and it also helps to give yourself permission to vent every now and then, in the right way of course My go to, in situations where a bank is making life harder than it should be, is to remind myself that if they were easy to deal with then I probably wouldn't have a business Other coping mechanisms of mine may, "allegedly", include writing cryptic social media posts, getting out in nature , exercise and the bottle shop There, I feel better already Ps.
