12.01.2022 Dear Colleagues, Last week we saw the tragic passing of Melissa Nielsen. Many of you will be aware that Melissa’s passing came quickly and unexpectedly following the original diagnosis of her illness four weeks ago. Melissa worked with Miller Harris Lawyers for 15 years, and became a partner of the firm in 2013. During that period, Melissa became the life and soul of the firm. She brought out the best and enriched the lives of those around her.... Melissa will be remembered by her clients for her dedication, commitment and enthusiasm to their cause and to her home region. She will be remembered by many more as a maternal health champion saving lives of mothers in childbirth through her fundraising for Send Hope Not Flowers. Send Hope Not Flowers has created a fundraising account in Melissa’s honour which can be accessed at: www.sendhope.org. Miller Harris is very grateful for the time that they shared with Melissa, and for the kind expressions of sympathy and support from the profession over the last week. Those that knew Melissa will miss her terribly. The FNQLA extends their deepest sympathy to Melissa’s family, and thanks the profession for their support of Miller Harris during this time.
