22.01.2022 Hi, my name is Dave, or Davey as my foster mum affectionately calls me. I'm only 5 years young and I think I might be Dane, Arab x with perhaps some greyhound thrown in as I'm quite a lean machine, but who cares, I'm awesome! My story is extremely sad, you see humans haven't always been kind to me, even though I loved them unconditionally and tried my hardest to please them. But one day FNQ Rescues R Us found me in a bad way and I was nursed back to health, they fixed me ri...ght up. I have since been living the life, so much food, so much love and a warm comfy place to sleep indoors with my foster siblings. I have the biggest saddest puppy dog eyes that have seen so much pain but I am so loving and affectionate. I always try my best to please so I never get hurt again. My manners are impeccable, I follow commands, I even sit and wait for my food until my mummy says I am allowed to have it (I just look up at her with my big puppy eyes), this is really hard for me because I have known hunger... Ok I drool a bit, but I still wait until she says OK. I have so much love to give, despite what I've been through, I am still a very gentle soul, I have absolutely no aggressive traits (I will bark occasionally to protect you when I'm on duty though). I get a bit overwhelmed with loud noises, a lot of small children can be a bit much but I do get used to them even though I get a bit stressed, maybe older kids would be easier. I love love love other dogs, humans, food, walks and car rides, I’m not really sure about cats yet, they're scary. I need lots of love and reassurance and a forever home as moving around upsets my progress a bit. My foster mum says my only bad habit is I snore (I may lick a bit too but that's cause I love you and I am trying my hardest to please you). I need access to indoors cause when I'm overwhelmed that's where I go to feel safe. Although I love my foster home and siblings, I would love to have some individual attention so my confidence can grow. I come vaccinated, heart wormed, microchipped, desexed and all that important stuff to keep me healthy. 21.01.2022 Our precious old soul Luis finally found his perfect furever home today It's a bittersweet moment for all of us here at the rescue as he has attached himself to many of our hearts and lives. Our foster carer Margo has done such an amazing job with him, working hard to ensure he is loved and recovers from his heartworm. Luis will never have to worry again about being abandoned. 20.01.2022 NAME: Boof AGE: 5 years BREED: Bull Arab x SEX: Male ADOPTION FEE: $365... Boof is a lovable wee goof ball, who was surrendered to us by the Townsville Pound due to having heartworm. He has been in care now for two weeks and has absolutely loved the attention he receives from his human foster carers and his fur sibling. He is extremely affectionate, playful and enjoys his walks, car rides and social time. He gets along great with other dogs after a slow introduction, but has not been tested with cats or birds. He is wonderful with children, although because of his active nature, would not recommend a home with babies, perhaps anything over 5 years of age would be great. He is best suited to a home with no other dogs. He is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and currently undergoing heartworm treatment, so he won't be available for another three months but pre adoption and meet and greets are encouraged. 19.01.2022 NAME: BB BREED: Medium mixed breed AGE/D.O.B: 2-3 years SEX: female ADOPTION FEE: $ 365... This sweet girl is an absolute heart-stealer. BB is a beautiful dog whose favourite things include hanging out at home and getting a neck scratch, following her foster-sister around and doing whatever she does and more recently, going for walks (not super long hikes, just a nice stroll if you please!). Her dislikes are thunder and camera flashes. Her unique brindle markings are absolutely stunning. BB is very gentle and walks perfectly on a lead. She knows basic commands and learns quite quickly. BB has spent a lot of time outdoors but now knows that being an inside dog is pretty cool and enjoys hanging out with the family when you are home. She gets scared quite easily so would be best suited to a home with older children as a noisy, active home would be overwhelming. She would be an ideal companion for anyone who loves to be adored! BB would be ok as an only dog but would thrive with another dog to show her the ropes. She really looks up to her foster-sister who has taught her lots of things like walks are fun, not scary, belly rubs are good and if you sit when the humans tell you, you might get a treat! We have had many successful adoptions and none of it could have been possible without our wonderful foster carers and the community who assisted us with donations and adoptions. 15.01.2022 Miss Minnie Update It has been a little while since we've given you an update on Minnie. We are so happy to say that she is absolutely thriving in foster care. She continues to show more and more of her personality and loves playing with her brothers and sisters in her pack. She is quite playful and has fallen in love with a suitcase, it now being one of her favourite spots to sleep! Her treatment is ongoing with her skin continuing to heal and more tufts of fur coming in.... Unfortunately, she is still testing as hearworm positive so her treatment is ongoing but foster mum, Lyn, assures us with Minnie's attitude, it's only a matter of time before she overcomes this as well. Thanks for all of your support on Miss Minnie's journey and don't forget to vaccinate with a yearly heartworm prevention so your four-legged friends do not have to go through the (very expensive) heartworm treatment. If you dont wish to use the yearly vaccination you can also do a monthly treatment. Talk to you vet if you are unsure.

SEX: Male ADOPTION FEE: Please enquire through messenger Hello there, My name is Luis and the wonderful people from FNQ RESCUES saved me from the Townsville Pound after my owner dumped me there because I have heart worm FNQ RESCUES didn't see a problem with this diagnoses, so they took me in and are treating me so then I'll be just like brand new. I am already showing my active side, considering I ran away from home when I first arrived, but only because I wanted to explore my new haven. I also decided I wanted to meet my new vet so that's where I took myself and was home safe and sound that same night. I am a very active and playful dog even though I'm 12. You wouldn't believe how much energy I have. My foster carer says I'm just like a young puppy. I love my foster fur siblings to bits, including these fur ball things they call cats? One tried to scare me and I didn't even flinch! I also have a sister who is a lorikeet and she talks to me all day long. So if you have other fur babies that would be awesome because I'm extremely social. I am happy being an inside or outside dog as long as I have a comfy bed to call my own. Cherry is a beautiful wee lady who has not had the best start in life but thankfully she was rescued by one of our wonderful sponsors from Calana Pharmacy. Cherry was adopted from another rescue, and unbeknown to the new family, she had been involved in a terrible car accident which left her with a Cruciate Ligament Tear and a Luxated Patella in her knee. Cherry has lived with this painful condition ...for a little while now, the rescue which she was adopted from did not declare this injury to the new owner and now will not respond to help or even assist to help rehabilitate apart from the donation they gave that doesn't cover even a fraction of the cost that is required for Cherry to get her surgery she so desperately needs. 07.01.2022 Meet Boof whose motto is I’m a lover not a fighter but I will fight for what I love He totally lives up to this, the most affectionate, loyal protective guy. I guess which also means his other motto is Every breath you take, every step you make, I’ll be watching you. He will never leave your side. He rocks a totally hardcore look with his black eye patch, black eyeliner and an upside-down love heart on his butt cheek! Boofie was rescued from Townsville pound after be...ing given up due to having heart worm . He is 5 years old, Bull Arab x and in great condition other than currently undergoing treatment for his heartworm. He is sooooooo affectionate, but is a total gentleman about it, he just waits close by quietly with his lethal tail wagging furiously waiting for you to notice him (beware anything at tail level ). He will get along with most dogs if properly introduced he is currently housed with 3 others and they are getting along just fine. Untested on cats or birds. He is ABSOLUTELY amazing with children and anyone that will offer pats or snuggles on the lounge (you just have to coax him out of your spot). He is obedient and eager to please, he has learnt to sit whilst in foster care and mostly waits until he’s told he can eat his dinner improving all the time and doesn’t mind chasing the odd ball or tug-o-war with a rope. At 10 years old, he might be categorised as a senior...but don’t tell Bam! He has a lovely personality and perfect energy levels, just energetic enough to love a walk and a play in the water but he is also very relaxed and happy to chill out. Bam has been an outdoor dog but since coming into care has found that hanging out inside with his family is super fun. He is perfectly house trained, has great manners and walks well on a lead. Bam gets a bit nervous around lots of loud noises so would prefer a home with older children. He gets on really well with his foster sister and greets other dogs very politely when out walking so would do well in a home with another dog. He hasn’t been tested with cats recently but has been around them previously.
