09.01.2022 Picture this: You’re working out. You’re giving it your all. Sweat is coming out of parts of your body you didn’t even think could sweat. You’re exhausted. There’s nothing left in the tank. And someone is yelling at you to do more. Harder. Faster. More reps. Come on! Let’s gooooooooo! We’ve all been there. You workout to be pushed right? You only grow outside your comfort zone and all that other cliche stuff that gets shoved down your throat as you’re struggl...ing to catch your breath. And it’s true to an extent. There is nothing wrong with any of this. Unless the work you are putting in is taking you further away from your specific goals. Unless all that hard work is slowing your progress. Unless all you have to show for it is injury and a defeated spirit. Do you need to work hard to achieve your goals? Yes. But hard work just for hard work’s sake is unnecessary and unproductive. Work hard, sure. But work smart. Make sure you are doing the work (and recovery) that will get you to where you want to go.
