25.01.2022 I have been watching this nest box for a while now. A Tuan has a nest inside and often leaves for a few days. When away the Sugar Gliders are constantly hanging around and sometimes sleeping overnight. This one morning the Sugar Glider forgot to set the alarm and had to make haste upon the Tuans arrival. See the Tuan coming up a branch top of screen. No doubt who has the nesting rights at the moment.

24.01.2022 This Brown Goshawk was bathing for approx 15 minutes! Here is an edited version.

23.01.2022 This year the nest boxes are pretty popular with the sugar (now called Krefft's) gliders. A few other residents in them, but mainly KG's.

22.01.2022 Six months on and the Swans are doing great! Babies no more. One cygnet was lost within a few days of their arrival, but it seems they have managed to stay out of harms way since then.

15.01.2022 First thing on a Powerful Owls's morning agenda...a good face splash..

12.01.2022 A Tuan (maybe this one) abandoned this nest box around this time last year, probably due to relentless pressure from Sugar Gliders. There have been a few face o...ffs between them in the last week or so while the Tuan has been in the box. Will be interesting to see what evolves this year. Tuan seems to have plans on being there for a while looking at its eagerness with nest building. Sugar Gliders are constantly visiting the box, while the Tuan is out. See more

06.01.2022 Around new year I couldnt see the young swans anywhere on the reservoir and I was a tad concerned for their welfare. They werent with their parents, which is where you would always find them. I was relieved to see them all by themselves for the first time on the other side of the lake. Must have been their first little excursion alone. Three months since arriving at Crusoe all five have survived and are doing great! The parents must have wised up from 2018 when they lost a cygnet within two days of arriving. Happy times!

05.01.2022 A set of keys were handed in today (Thurs 14/2). They were dropped within the park. Contact ther ranger if you have lost 'em. phone: 0427 844 177

04.01.2022 Great to see the beautiful and endangered Swift Parrot visiting the park in the last few days. No doubt feeding on the Ironbarks which have been in full bloom over the last month. (pic by William Terry)

01.01.2022 The swans and cygnets have once again made the 3km road migration from Ritchies Basin to Crusoe. A month earlier this year. Happy times swannies!
