In the cooler months you tend to eat more carbohydrates (comfort, warming food), processed foods, sugary foods (because you are lacking energy, cause you didn’t get the endorphin rush and energy boost from getting out and exercising in the morning!), so you start on this vicious cycle. Don’t want to get out of bed to exercise, eat more, feel crap, get down in the dumps, repeat. Don’t let your body get into this cycle. If you get out of bed an...d exercise there are SO many benefits, including more energy, more motivation, you will eat less of the bad foods and less likely to suffer the Winter Blues! Get a head start for when Summer comes along. You will have more time to get your body looking and feeling ‘FABULOUS’, before the nice hot, beach Summer weather comes along! Just remember, Summer Bodies are made in Winter!

11.01.2022 TRY OUT SMOOTHIE BAGS This is a great time saver by preparing your smoothie bags ahead of time, you can have a healthy smoothie ready when you need it in just a few minutes. Preparation:... Put the chopped leafy greens into the bag first (spinach or kale) then add fruit (whatever you like but blueberries, strawberries, bananas, mango, pineapple are great) make sure you cut up the fruit into small pieces so that it blends easier. Squeeze out as much air as you can and seal the bag. Removing the air helps prevent frost from forming. Freeze bags You can even label the freezer packs with the type of liquid you want to have in the smoothie and the amounts so that you know what to add to it. How to make: When ready just grab a smoothie bag and add 1 cup of liquid to blend (apple juice, milk or coconut water). I also like to add in chia seeds but its better to add them at the last minute when making the smoothie as they tend to stick to the bag if you freeze them. Choose from any of these ingredients Leafy greens: Spinach, kale, bok choy, romaine and other sweet lettuces Fruit: Berries, pineapple, mango, citrus, avocado, pear, apple, banana, melon, dates, etc. Veggies: Cucumber, celery, fennel, tomatoes, carrots, beets, pumpkin or butternut puree Liquids: Water, coconut water, milk, non-dairy milks (coconut, soy, oat, nuts), juice, tea Nutritional add-ins: Chia seeds, flax seeds, acai powder, green superfood powders (acai, maca, spirulina, wheat grass, etc.), protein powder, cocoa powder, spices, whole nuts, etc.
