It's great for reducing fluid loss but can lead to slip injury, poor vision, a strain on your internal thermometer, and even bring on an asthma attack if it's a electrical storm. 23.01.2022 There is so much current information promoting the HIIT training out there right now you’d think that it’s the miracle go-to for fat burning, improved heart health, strength gains and total body composition transformation. Warning: it’s very hard on your circulatory system and high impact. Proceed with caution and DO ask your trainer to tailor a session geared to you - your blood pressure, your goals, your fitness level, your history, your enjoyment, and even your ankle and knee integrity. 20.01.2022 The popularity of yoga and Pilates is huge. I often see posts on Facebook Instagram and even on the television about healthy spine. So what are they really talking about? What is a healthy spine? Around 80% of the population will experience back pain at some point and 80% of those people will experience it in their lower back. When we consider the shoulder girdle and the chest are much stronger than the stomach and internal and external obliques, we can appreciate that... the lower back has less support and therefore more vulnerable to stress that leads to pain. The bones in the lower back are made to support weight and not movement, so we can also appreciate that they are under stress all the time even when we are sitting and often tight. Having a healthy spine really means having a pain-free spine and having the muscles and bones do what they are supposed to be and doing, when they are supposed to be doing it. The way to get a healthy spine (and keep it) is simple: move and stretch it everyday. Don’t forget to do plank and crunches about five times a week. 19.01.2022 Water - not enough and we get very very sick. Too much and we get muscle twitches, fatigue, and even heart palpitations. It’s rare however that people drink too much - often the opposite is the case. Check your urine. It should be very pale and have no odour. Now check your tongue. It should be moist and shiny. Now check your overall well being. If you have muscle cramps and headaches and feel excessively hungry or thirsty you need to double your water intake immediately. You need AT LEAST 200 ml every 10-15 mins of vigorous training. We focus on fuel, fluid and feeling great!

12.01.2022 When the temperature drops, our lives get more head for bed then head for the hills; and walking to the fridge is the most interesting thing you’ll do this Sunday. That’s ok. Did you know skin, muscles, nails, and the immune system repair themselves when you’re chilled? Too much rest though and your tummy will start to grow too. Cardio is NOT a dirty word so aim to do that every second day for up to an hour. Lift weights two to three times a week. And choose a third activity that involves stretching or a coordination activity, once a week. Rest in between. Discuss your goals with me for free. 07.01.2022 Here are some fresh ideas to get motivated to workout. 1) Buy some kick ass high quality trainers, tights/shorts, training gloves, and socks. Put them on. Tell yourself you’re ready to do this. 2) Buy a gym bag that you love. Fill it with a towel, hand sanitiser, spare shirt, deodorant, and a device with your fav music. Pick the bag up. Notice how cool you look and feel with it, and tell yourself that you’re ready. 3) Ask a reliable buddy to meet you for weight training s...essions and stick to it. No, really...turn up on time, every time. It will become habit forming and a social outlet. 4) If setting goals seems a bit cliche and fruitless, then construct a fantasy - put sexy pics around of fit guys/girls or your sporting heroes and remind yourself that if they can do it, you can too. Because you actually can. Plus it’s nice on the eye! 5) And for the daring ones: book a photo shoot. Nude or clothed it’s up to you. Don’t laugh, I’ve done this myself and so have many other friends. It will get you hitting the jogging track and barbell faster than you can say this is my good side. We focus on fitness, furthering your potential, and your future.

05.01.2022 I have been asked a couple of times about workout attire. You do need some advice when it comes to running shoes particularly if you’re going to actually run in them. When weight training you actually need a flat shoe. Quality tights and shorts are important because you simply do not want to be distracted while you’re in the middle of an intense workout session, and if you’re heavy sweater you can buy clothing that will help absorb moisture and draw it away from the skin for... comfort. Weight training gloves are absolutely essential for hygiene as well as grip. Everything else is or just marketing. Remember your body doesn’t actually know you’re exercising therefore it doesn’t actually care what exercise attire you wear! Use your common sense and check your budget. 04.01.2022 How do you feel when you see this image? Like laughing? Sad? Alarming? Not sure? Consider this: There is no such thing as a cheat meal. It’s simply allowing yourself a treat. Cheat meal is a buzzword used by body builders (after days or weeks of superstrict meal planning) with the sole purpose of fast calorie loading to gain carbs and replace a little fat, for use in pending HARD training sessions. Exercise scientists and nutritionists don’t condone cheat meals. But let’s... say those body builders are right.......if you lack discipline it won’t matter because this image will become relatable. Instead, eat well to meet YOUR SPECIFIC GOALS, everyday, every meal. Have a small treat (eg: half a mars bar; two cookies; a handful of hot chips; or a beer) up to three times a week. And fill up everyday on water to curb hunger; and take fish oil and eat whole grains to kill sugar cravings. We focus on your goals framework, the facts, food, and fitness. See more

Exercise indoors for now, take big deep breaths as you move, and see your doctor if your lungs feel tight or you have a cough. Air purifiers may also help. And keep your house super clean.
