19.01.2022 Freight continues as new restrictions in Victoria take effect. Please see the media release from the VTA today, transport will continue as new restrictions tak...e effect in Melbourne and Regional Victoria. Transport is an essential service and it is encouraging that the Victorian Government is doing a power of work and working with the freight industry to ensure we can continue to operate safely and productively, said VTA CEO Peter Anderson. As Victorians prepare for further restrictions to their lives and livelihoods, we urge them to heed the advice of state and Commonwealth jurisdictions so that we can reduce community transition and start to get our economy back on a positive footing as soon as possible, he said. Anderson also reassured Victorians the transport industry will continue to deliver fresh food, groceries, medicine, fuel and other essential goods to see the community through tougher restrictions. https://vta.com.au//2020/08/VTA-Stage-4-Release-Final-1.pdf Please read the press statements from the Premier, especially regarding Melb changes. 16.01.2022 Our border communities are at their wits end keeping up with changing restrictions Farmers and harvest contractors fear strict border closures will cripple the... nations harvest this year, unless special agriculture permits/exemptions are offered to streamline interstate travel People living on the border are riding a rollercoaster of tightening restrictions that are making it impossible to access farms, education, hospitals and essential products and services Im working with my interstate counterparts for solutions on a way forward for the agriculture sector and the food supply chain, but the Andrews Government must also come to the party. 08.01.2022 Due to the evolving situation in New South Wales, effective from 11.59pm Sunday 19 July significant additional restrictions will be in place for anyone wanting ...to enter WA from NSW. These tougher restrictions will be in place for an initial two week period as we continue to monitor the developing situation in NSW. This is necessary to keep WA safe. You must meet the tougher exemption criteria to be allowed to enter WA if you have been in or travelled through NSW in the previous 14 days. Anyone entering from NSW must undertake testing for COVID-19. Travellers will be required to undertake mandatory 14-day quarantine, unless exempt. Significant conditions and penalties will be enforced by the WA Police Force. We know the restrictions are inconvenient for a lot of people for various reasons, however, these measures are necessary to protect Western Australia. The WA Police Force is working hard to process the large volumes of exemption applications. To find out more, visit our website: https://www.wa.gov.au//dep/covid-19-coronavirus-travel-wa To apply for an exemption, check that you meet the exemption criteria before completing your application via the G2G Pass website: https://www.g2gpass.com.au/apply
