17.01.2022 On the 75th anniversary of the battle of Milne Bay PMG, I thought you might like to see a photo of the bay where the two week battle took place. The memorial looks out across Milne Bay. Its hard to imagine the two week battle across this large bay in hot steamy weather. We latter visited Bita Paka War Cemetery, an hours drive from Rabaul. Beautifully kept, the resting place for our soldiers from WW1 & WW2. Such was the impact on visiting this cemetery that we went back a year latter to spend more time there....there are special places that do that to you! East New Britain is an amazing region and is a must to visit if you can.....because you can!!!
