11.01.2022 Coeliac disease and Fertility. Today I read an interesting article by Sally Marchini (a dietitian specialising in coeliac disease). It seems that women with coeliac disease who do not follow a strict gluten free diet experience an 8.9 fold higher risk of miscarriage and low birth weight babies, compared to those with coeliac disease who do follow a strict gluten free diet. They also find it harder to conceive. If a gluten free diet is followed then risk of infertility, miscar...riage and low birth weight is no higher than in the general population. 06.01.2022 Her's an interesting but so important and so simple take on nutrition- not what are you eating, but who is cooking it? Michael Pollan is an excellent speaker, well worth a minute of your time. What are you cooking for dinner? Me, vegie curry, brown rice, fragrant spiced lentils and Spinach and Tomato Salad. Best of all, we had all that bar the salad yesterday and today we have enough for a 'leftovers' dinner- yay!
