19.01.2022 For our Perth Food Allergy Friends Halloween is just around the corner and our friends at Allergy Support Hub are hosting an allergy-friendly Spooktacular Hallo...ween on Sunday 25 October from 9.30am 12.30pm at the Palms Centre Subiaco, WA. There will be a trick or treat map to follow and find treats, activities, and info along the way. Plenty of fun for the kids and stalls for the parents to browse from local and national allergy providers and companies. I’ll be there virtually at 11am talking about managing events when you have allergies, focusing on Halloween and Christmas. There will also be a chance to meet Thai (virtually), does your child have a question they would like to ask him? I’m also donating a back to school pack and I will announce the winner on the live feed. The lucky winner will receive a 'get ready for school pack', with a medical bag, books, and some posters that they can share with their school. An excellent policy for schools and childcare centres to adopt is hand-washing with soap and water before and after eating. An important reminder that hand sanitiser DOES NOT REMOVE ALLERGENS. Use appropriate hand-washing procedures that emphasize the use of soap and water. Plain water and hand sanitisers are not effective in removing food allergens.
