25.01.2022 It’s so good to get out and about again to reconnect our producers around Gippsland ! Luke Wallace is one of Gippsland Jersey’s farmers - and we got to meet some of his Jersey girls this morning in Poowong, South Gippsland. ... Gippsland Jersey is one of the participants in our SME Export Support Program and as one of their milk suppliers, Luke’s story is an important part of theirs. And we’re chuffed to be able to tell it to the world ! #gippslandtrustedprovenance #dairy #gippsland #regionalvictoria

25.01.2022 Farmer’s Markets are a lot of work for a dedicated and passionate group of volunteers - which is why Louise Leighton from Warragul Farmers Market is holding onto the winners’ board for this year’s Excellence in Service to the Food & Fibre industry Award. We’re sure this board will appear somewhere at the next market - and be put to good use forever more !

25.01.2022 Our Young Agribusiness Leader of the Year Rob Bayley received his trophy today. We are a practical bunch at Food & Fibre Gippsland - so we don’t do traditional trophies. We think of something different each year that can be used on a regular basis - not sit in a cabinet gathering dust. ... Last year it was an engraved silver water jug - which we know have been used in the winner’s offices all over Gippsland. This year it’s a grazing board - etched / engraved with the winner details - and destined to be used as the foundation for many a platter and food inspired family or work event. Congrats Rob - looking forward to hearing all about your experiences with the leadership course you’ve won when you meet up with the prize sponsor - Australian Rural Leadership Foundation #excellenceawards #gippsland #gippslandproducers #gippslandproduce #gippslandtrustedprovenance

24.01.2022 What an awesome effort by the Prom Coast Food Collective - in a challenging year, their sales reach over $900,000 !!!!! Congratulations Sally and Amelia, and the amazing collaborative and passionate farming group you’ve created - you are all inspirational ! #repost Prom Coast Food Collective... $933,203.23 in sales in 2020. Umwoah. That’s almost quadruple on 2019 This is the amount of money, to the cent, which was poured back into the pockets of the organic and regenerative farmers and makers on the Collective in the calendar year of 2020. And we’re mighty proud of that. We farmed, we delivered, we hustled, we pivoted, we fretted, we bounced children on knees to get it done. Every single week. During a pandemic. And we’re proud of that. Butreallyyou, our awesome customers did this. Everyone who has supported us, helped invigorate our local economy by achieving this number. We are still the Collective that happy dances with every order; still the Collective which you can contact directly and talk to us if there’s a problem or question. Every single order which comes in sees an actual farmer or maker receive 90 cents in the $1. We are the farmers, and we stand with the farmers. We farm well so that you may eat well. Our drivers and packing team are farmers or locals, adding further security in our region. And we’ve just begun to hit our stride. Female, feisty and farmer-led, we will make change to the dominant farming and food system.

Theyre retailing direct to the public through accredited farmers markets - youll find them at the Warragul and Traralgon Farmers Markets each month. And they recently opened the newest farm shop in Gippsland at the entrance to their property at Nambrok! 14.01.2022 Huge congratulations to our pizza maestro member Earth & Soul Pizza Earth & Soul Pizza Wins 2020 Tripadvisor Travellers Choice Award 2020 Based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, prior to any changes caused by the pandemic, award winners are known for consistently receiving great diner feedback, placing them in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe. ... We do this for the love of good food and pizza, rather than any accolades, said Co-Founders Merryn Padgett and Marcus Andrews. When we get a positive online review, we feel grateful that our team provided our customers with a pizza experience that is second to none in East Gippsland. Weve worked hard to achieve consistent positive reviews over the last two years of operation. Receiving this Tripadvisor award is a humbling experience, they concluded. Although its been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners achievements. Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for diners as the world begins to venture out again. 09.01.2022 Gippsland is home to so many talented, passionate business owners in the food and fibre sector - we’re proud that many of them choose to be part of our member family. Congratulations Seasalt-sourdough on your first two years - amongst all sorts of adversity and challenges, you still grow and thrive ! Posted @withregram @seasaltsourdough ... 2 years ago Andrew untied his chef apron and walked out of the kitchen - taking the scary plunge of committing full time to the endeavour of baking real, natural, proper sourdough for East Gippsland. This little piece of cloth covered the first jar of sourdough starter that was the mother of it all. And truly from little things, Seasalt sourdough has grown. Seasalt started in our council passed kitchen with a kitchenaid mixer, a domestic steam oven and many naps on the lounge in order the deliver the 15-30 ordered loaves each bake day - 2 loaves at a time baking for 45-50 mins in a domestic oven. Andrew doing deliveries after baking. Today we have renovated our garage into a commercial bakery, have 2 commercial mixers and a @miwe.official oven extraordinare baking between 80-250 loaves a day. Juanita too is a fulltime employee/manager/delivery driver/packaging queen and everything but baker. Our 2 wonderful girls are extremely helpful in the clean up each day and a lovely friend works with us for big delivery days. There are still a few naps.... This is our little acknowledgment of all that has happened and been accomplished in the last two years (haven’t they been fun ones, bushfires, the unnameable lockdown homeschool inducing plague) and a huge, enormous thank you to our many loyal customers, businesses and friends who have taken the journey with us. Thank you.
