20.01.2022 Happy World Pasta Day! This pantry staple is a much loved part of the Foodbank family, and we have great local businesses manufacturing it just for us here in Australia. For more than a decade, Rinoldi and Vetta Pasta have been proudly partnering with Foodbank to get much needed pasta onto the plates of people doing it tough. 2020 has been a particularly challenging time for many, and the team at Rinoldi have helped us enormously by producing more than 50 tonnes of pasta ...since January, enough to provide 91,000 meals! But it’s not just Rinoldi providing the penne, it’s a great team effort with our partners The Manildra Group, Allied Pinnacle, and generous Aussie farmers helping serve up spaghetti for people in need. Manchester United's Marcus Rashford has successfully lobbied the UK Government to address child poverty with the announcement this week of more than 400m to support children and their families in England put food on their table. Rashford said this would improve the lives of almost 1.7 million children in the UK.... Here in Australia, Weet-Bix ambassador and Socceroos legend Tim Cahill has been a vocal supporter of Foodbank school breakfast programs, bringing smiles to children’s faces when he busts the stigma and encourages them to come to breakfast club to make sure they start their school day with full tummies.
