24.01.2022 Came back nearly empty and the rest has been quickly eaten. First day back has definitely made them hungry. The school has decided to have playtime first followed by lunch. Seems to have worked well today

18.01.2022 Taco Tuesday Anyone else? The kids love meals like this, getting to create their own versions. Instead of our usual beef tacos I marinaded chicken strip's in taco spice. I also made fish tacos for the pescatarian in the family. Cooked mayonnaise to tie it all together. All the recipes are on Cookidoo

16.01.2022 Mash potato I've been a Thermomix owner for nearly 7 years and have to admit the first few times I made mash in it I was pretty disappointed with the outcome. I'm a bit of a mash/potato connoisseur and often wonder how I don’t have more Irish blood in me. Having seen numerous posts I thought my fails must be down to my potato choice Tonight I made the mash for two from cookidoo using royal blue potatoes, which are my preferred all rounder potato. I left out the parmesam and doubled the amount of potatoes in the basket, at the final stage I inserted the butterfly and dropped the mixing time down by 5 seconds(you can always carry on mixing if you feel it needs it but you can't undo it once you've overworked your mash) Tonight we has perfectly smooth, fluffy mash that I'm definitely proud of! One bowl and little effort from me

11.01.2022 These little morsels went down well yesterday and are a great healthy option. The recipe is easy to convert and make in your Thermomix. I made an egg free version by replacing the egg with a heaped tbsp of yoghurt. If yours needed to be dairy free use a dairy free yoghurt or an extra banana. 07.01.2022 First Day back Lunchboxes Sometimes living in the Pilbara has some amazing advantages. I'm feeling for all the Perth, Peel Region and South West parents that went into sudden lockdown this evening, fingers crossed everything is back to normal next week. I'm very grateful that we can still send our girls to school tomorrow. My middle child has her first day at Kindy tomorrow and is very excited. I'm excited for her but also nervous as we have been told we have to say good... bye at the door. A total change from my eldest first day at Kindy. Chicken mayo, avocado and lettuce sandwich using my husbands homemade sweet potato and cheese sourdough. 04.01.2022 I use my Thermoserver multiple times a week. Sometimes its just to finish off cooking a dish like this Penne Alla Panna, which we had for dinner tonight. It's also great for keeping my husbands dinner warm as he finishes a couple of hours after we've eaten. If you own a few they're perfect for a curry night.
