23.01.2022 Choice is everything! This would limit the variety of organic produce available, plus put alot of pressure on organic farmers, potentially making it not financially viable to maintain organic certification! The proposal is available for public comment until the 19th April so make sure you have your say. The link is at the bottom of the article.

23.01.2022 Love my Waters Co Australia benchtop filter!

22.01.2022 I think a lot of the time people see products such as 'almond butter' and 'cashew butter' as being healthy. They absolutely can be but not all nut butters are the same! This is definitely a reminder to always check your food labels, it's sad but you just can't trust companies and their claims. We only buy nut butters with 100% nuts - better yet, make your own and you know exactly what's going into it <3

19.01.2022 ***Choc-chip Brownie Recipe*** I made this last night as we *needed* something quick and easy for dessert. We were having dinner at my brother's and he *forgot* to make dessert - likely story! I forgot to take a picture which just means that I will have to make it again <3... 1/2 cup coconut oil 1 cup coconut sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1.5 cups flour (can use normal all purpose or GR all purpose) 1 tsp baking soda 1 cup dark chocolate chips 1. Add coconut oil, coconut sugar, egg and vanilla extra to a bowl and whisk until combined 2. Sift in the flour and baking soda and combine 3. Gently fold in the chocolate chip 4. Pop the batter into a tin and bake for approx 15-18mins on 180C P.S This is what I imagine they would look like if made into a cookie - if making cookies, roll the dough into balls and slightly flatten and I'd only cook for approx 8mins.

18.01.2022 I am all about one-pot meals now that I have a newborn (let's be honest, I've always been about one-pot meals!) Being able to pop everything in the one dish, leave it to cook for a while and come back to an awesome dinner is the BEST, not to mention the minimal cleanup! I am going to be making this for dinner tonight using all the delicious veggies from the box this week <3

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, As most of you would know, Blake and I had a little girl in March this year. We had thought that we would be able to continue doing our fruit and veg deliveries but as she is getting a little older, the deliveries have become more challenging. I also think the universe has been trying to tell me that I am doing too much too soon, so after much discussion, we have decided to take a break from The Foodie Gurus. We are hoping that we will be able to start up again ...in spring/summer so it's only a goodbye for now! We have absolutely loved providing families in the Shire & St George with affordable organic produce over the past two years, and we really want to thank you for supporting our little passion project! We will still be posting recipes and health tips on our facebook page, just might not be as frequent as usual. Love Sarah, Blake & Nixie <3

07.01.2022 ~ Nixie Rose Gregory ~ Born on 16/3/18 @ 5:55am at home <3 3.85kg 54cm... Nixie means water sprite (mermaid) in German which is quite fitting as she was born in the water <3 Hock, the author of 'Why you shouldn't name your son Clint' (our naming bible) sent us a blurb about Nixie as it wasn't in his book - he's an absolute legend!! 'Well, she may not be the full tomboy but she certainly skirts around the edges. Impossible to repress or to depress, Nixie pops up in dire moments like a corked bottle bobbing in the ocean which is unsinkable. Here in the real world, of course, she’s not providing water, but she’s supplying an immediate wealth of humour, sexy & silly optimism and a capacity to think laterally, very quickly. Yep, Nixie belongs on the bridge, so give her the captain's hat and just sit back. And if she’s known as nixie-rose then there is a 38% chance of a higher level of added arrogance'.
