25.01.2022 If you’re looking for a stylish COVID friendly way to celebrate the Spring Racing Carnival check out these delicious hampers from Bill and Beats. Purchasing a hamper will also support the Mooroopna Park Primary School Healthy Eating program. Orders must be placed this weekend!

24.01.2022 This week we welcomed the Haven, Shepparton and Family Haven, Mooroopna to the Food Link family. On Wednesday we delivered 10 fresh salad rolls from Country Life Bakery, 10 chicken and avocado focaccia's from The Butterfactory Cafe and 30 generous serves of beef moussakas from Bill & Beat's. The Haven distributes these meals to those facing food insecurity and they are one of many wonderful local agencies offering hope to those in need. 20.01.2022 This week the Goulburn Valley has seen how the actions of one individual can negatively impact a community. HOWEVER, imagine the positive impact that a collective community can have! Every dollar we spend locally flows on, impacts, supports, restores and strengthens our region and this is also what Food Link aims to achieve. Since the first lockdown we have delivered over 6000 meals. These meals have been purchased from 13 local businesses and then donated to 11 local agenci...es who deliver them to those most in need. We have raised over $80,000 which has been spent locally, not only supporting businesses but our most vulnerable. Thank you to those who have been inspired to donate due to recent events. 20.01.2022 This week has been another busy week for Food Link with a total of 290 meals being delivered. Thanks to Country Life Bakery for to 50 Salad Rolls which have proved popular with the hotter weather. Thanks also to The Woolshed at Emerald Bank for cooking up 100 halal meals which means Food Link is able to cater for our diverse community. At Food Link we are enormously proud that we have been able to support our many and varied local eateries throughout the Covid crisis. 16.01.2022 This week Food Link has supported our hospitality industry by ordering another 290 meals from a number local businesses. These meals have been distributed to those currently facing hardship. Thanks to Shepparton Golf Club who provided 60 ready to heat meals that have been gratefully received. 13.01.2022 We were so pleased to receive 100 pre-packaged meals from Food Link this week. These ready made meals, that have been made by The Little Gourmet Food Company,... are the ideal heat and eat, to distribute to local people in need via the agencies that collect our food. The Food Link initiative was established to support the local community during the COVID-19 crisis. The concept is to raise funds to pay local hospitality businesses who have been negatively impacted by the pandemic, to make meals for people who are doing it tough also as a result of the pandemic.

04.01.2022 On April 6 this year we at Food Link delivered our first batch of meals and this week we have reached the 5000 meals milestone. To get to this number we have raised over $56,000 and created some much needed work for 12 local hospitality businesses. We have then delivered these meals to 4 agencies, 4 schools and 1 kindergarten, they then distribute them to those most in need. This week we have photographed some of the many people involved in the Food Link community and we've ...used the power of photoshop to come together and celebrate! Of course a big thank you to all our donors who have made this possible. As we continue to ease out of lockdown we would love to continue to support our community. 03.01.2022 The last few weeks have continued to be busy for Food Link. With recent donations from Australian Communities Foundation of $11,000 and a total of $36,000 from StreetSmart Australia we have been able to continue to support those in our community impacted by the pandemic. Thanks to WIN TV for their story about these recent developments. Thanks also to Sandy from the Life Op Shop for agreeing to be interviewed and sharing how Food Link has supported them in the work that they d...o. This week Food Link clocked up 7000 meals. These meals have been purchased from 13 local hospitality businesses and distributed to those facing food insecurity and hardship. We are continuing to grow the number of businesses we support with Stanley’s Café being the newest addition to the Food Link family. Over the past month Food Link has purchased 180 chicken schnitzel burgers and egg & bacon rolls from Stanleys which have been well received, particularly by those who are homeless. Thanks to our long standing businesses The Woolshed at Emerald Bank, The Little Gourmet Food Company and Lutfiyes Shish Kebab who have cooked up Halal meals, enabling Food Link to cater for the various cultural groups in our community. Food Link now delivers to 12 different welfare agencies with South Shepparton Community Centre Inc. (SSCC) being the most recent agency to receive meals. SSCC like many of the agencies and schools we deliver to work with some of the most vulnerable people in our community. Being able to provide a nutritious quality meals can have a significant and positive impact on individuals and families they work with. Current funding will see Food Link continue to deliver meals until the end of November. With additional support from our local community we would love to continue to run our program until Christmas. 03.01.2022 Since the first lockdown Food Link has ordered 810 meals from Fryers Street Food Store. They are one of the 15 locals businesses we are proud to have supported during the pandemic. To date we have raised and spent over $90,000 and generated much needed business for our local hospitality businesses. All meals purchased are donated to those in need. Thanks Ingrid, Ed and the Fryers Street Food Store team for being part of the Food Link family and for cooking up these delicious and nutritious meals.
