23.01.2022 We were super excited when Mallee District Aboriginal Services - Mildura, Swan Hill, Kerang, Robinvale contacted us about sourcing some local organic fruit & veg from Out of the Box Sunraysia for their Early Learning program. The first boxes went out last week - the start of a new collaboration for our community. Check out the link in the post below for the full story. #collaborationisbetter #supportlocal

20.01.2022 Jonai Farm and Meatsmiths is a place of beauty and inspiration. Tammi and Stuart have built a community farm around values of caring for the land, respect for the animals and a culture of learning and sharing with the community that live and work with them on the farm. The area of the farm where the pigs live is like a village! This is an inspiration to our work and a vision of the possibilities. Thank you Jonai Farm #regenerativefarming #communityfarming
19.01.2022 Sharing this beautiful post from one of our many wonderful volunteers, Shalbe Welsh, who’s taking part in a #rationchallenge this week. It’s just a glimpse of a different life and we hope that our work at Food Next Door is helping make the world a better place for former refugees here in Australia, just like Shalbe is! . Jimmy and Shalbe are auctioning off their fresh produce box this week - donate to their challenge (link below) and add OOTB after your name for a chance to w...in a local produce Out of the Box Sunraysia box. . The winner will be drawn at 2pm and the box can be picked up from Clove Organic Shop & Cafe. Mildura. . Day one: I didn’t think My body could handle the rations for a week. Jimmy doesn’t want to eat the vegetable or protein we are rewarded from the money we have raised because it takes away from the experience. He is doing completely fine and I have a pounding headache. Time to sleep for 12 hours. Day two: I can do this! My coworkers uplift me and taste everything at work. I allow myself some garlic as my vegetable reward & I feel like I have overcome the hunger and that it was all in my head. Day three: Cry most the day over every little thing. Toast up rice as a crunchy snack. Rice brain in real. Feeling guilty about how privileged I am, feeling scared for my body, and honestly, feeling generally depressed. BUT! The amount of support you all have shown, and the amount we are able to generate to donate to refugees makes it sooooo worth it. I love you all. Thank you for helping me make it through this week, and thank you for helping save refugees lives.

13.01.2022 You know those broad beans we turned back into the soil? We left a row for seed and harvested 4 huge bags! Plenty for next year #communitydemonstrationfarm #biodynamicfarming
09.01.2022 Those carrots from the #communitydemonstrationfarm are SO good roasted whole. Throw some roast beetroots (golden and red) and chopped spring onion from @bensbonafidefood , tarragon and feta from @bethunelanedairy into a bowl with the roasted carrots. Whisk some @bawdensfarm olive oil & fresh lemon and toss it all together. AMAZING and 100% local #knowwhereyourfoodcomesfrom #supportlocal
09.01.2022 We've loved watching the magnificent green manure crop develop at the Community Farm. It's all gone now ready for spring plantings after having enriched the soil with nutrients and minerals, captured and sequestered carbon in the soil, and aerated the soil with root growth.
08.01.2022 Today!! Jules and Deb are super excited to be part of this event today and looking forward to the conversation. Hope you’re joining us!
