Today I managed to serve 55 coffees 38 meals make an impromptu speech to the KESAB environmental solutions tour with Ali Roush and assemble 45 dinner packs for Conservation SA AGM tonight. Thanks to everyone for agreeing to run on Bali time and for spacing your patronage out, so that I could serve you with minimum waits ... I’m privileged to be surrounded by some of the most successful and inspiring people around, including this beautiful woman pictured. Karen visits the cafe every morning for a pay it forward coffee. She says the cafe makes her feel happy and calm and gives her something to look forward to. Her resilience and capacity to overcome adversity is admirable. I’ve watched her continually work on improv...ing her health and well-being and she surprises me with her goals and ambitions regularly. We chat about plants, health and cooking, successes and challenges. Karen would like to write a book about her life one day and I can’t wait to be one of the first to read it. Karen inspires me to be the best version of me every morning and reminds me of why I do what I do each day. 13.01.2022 This time last year we were celebrating our first year in business and winning Best Green Business in the #citybusinessawards. I had worked a full day in the kitchen and had 10 minutes to quickly change into a dress to make it to the awards night! When they announced our name we forgot to cheer we were so surprised We won that award because we fought for something we believed in. We fought for a better environment, a better community and a better world. This year we celebr...ate our second year, and the fact that our doors remain open. This year the fight is a little different. We fight for the survival of the business, so that we remain around in the future and continue making a difference.
