15.01.2022 Fun fact: The lovers and haters of coriander appear to experience the taste differently. If you are someone like me who love coriander, you may describe it as f...resh, fragrant or citrusy, whereas those who dislike this herb report that it tastes like soap or bugs. It is all coded in your gene. It is interesting that Cilantro/coriander haters have this gene called OR6A2 which enables them to smell the unpleasant chemical like (E)-2-decenal, a primary constituent of coriander - This is also in the defensive secretions of stink bugs. Corriander lovers are blessed with the inability to smell the unpleasant compound in the herb. Thanks to the genetic mutation! No Indian cooking in my kitchen is complete without a sprig of this wonderful herb. So do you love or hate coriander? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-NqRi-8jfo The Garden Gurus and Swan Valley Nursery

11.01.2022 STEVIA In this segment with The Garden Gurus, I talk about Stevia a green herb that you could grow in your garden or even on a window sill. The dried leav...es are 30 times sweeter than cane sugar, do not raise your blood sugar levels and has a herbal liquorice after taste. The little packets of stevia you find in the supermarket comes from this plant and is refined, concentrated and purified. Thank you Duncraig Edible Garden for opening your doors for us. What a beautiful place you have created to bring the community together! I thoroughly enjoyed eating your organically grown cape gooseberries. Such a treat to my eyes and my tummy! :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgib91AbxyM&t=20s
