05.01.2022 A beautiful story shared by our local Ms Margaret-Jim-Crossly. Ms Margaret Jim Crossly told us that her husband Jim was offered a job by Joseph & Lucas Electrical company back in Burnley, England. It was a very big Electrical company back then. They had their factory here in our very own Cheltenham where the new part of Souhtland shopping centre is situated now. There was a whole group of people came on that ship from Burnley and Birmingham to join the Electrical company on 6...th March 1959. Most of them settled in and around Golden Triangle in Cheltenham. The company bought the land on 2nd June 1950 to built huge factory with state of art Facility on Nepean highway, now Southland.
