22.01.2022 In the below video, Stan Grant discusses safe ground in healthcare, and why it is important to have a culturally aware practice. An individuals experience of... racism within the healthcare system can cause psychological distress and avoidance of medical treatment. Its important to remember that not all racism is overt. Systemic factors can create or reinforce barriers to equitable access, treatment and outcomes. These barriers may include routine processes or clinical practices that do not differentiate on the basis of race, but equally do not take differing cultural norms or the needs of particular people into account. What can we do as practitioners to ensure that we practice in a culturally aware manner? #NRW18 See more

20.01.2022 Cytotoxic drugs often affect long peripheral nerves. In foot and ankle pathology cases post chemo retraining proprioception can be a challenge. Very grateful to have the expert input of Grace Ramsden with these cases.

20.01.2022 Last week we had Tiff Hall come in to use our Alter G Treadmill, which is a revolutionary medical rehabilitation treadmill. With its unique differential air pressure technology, the treadmill provides accurate, safe and comfortable partial weight-bearing therapy. Tiff ran for 10 minutes reducing her body weight by 50%. This is such a great way to rehabilitate, strengthen, train without pain and increase your fitness. If youre on your own rehabilitation journey, wed love to hear about it and help you through. Give us a call to book an appointment today on 9596 6612

17.01.2022 OPEN for Patient Consultations: As announced by Scott Morrison last night Physiotherapy Clinics are considered essential services. We are still available to see patients in the clinic. Or you can see our skilled and experienced practitioners via TeleHealth, video consult. Our Brighton waiting room is large, quiet and rarely has more than 1 or 2 people waiting, so you will have plenty of space. Were committed to managing your physical and mental health, and continuity of service is our best way to care for our patients.

17.01.2022 Restoring movement after surgery is vital. Thanks to Zoe and the team at our Scoresby location Rise Health Group for getting our patients moving.

13.01.2022 Eliud Kipchoge has silenced the critics. Never mind the lack of IAAF credentials to the successful sub 2 hour marathon. This was all about human endeavour. We witnessed history today.

12.01.2022 Whats your run plan this week?

11.01.2022 When Australian Winter Olympian Clare Louise Brumley injured her ankle skiing last weekend she feared the worst until an MRI ruled out syndesmosis injury. Fortunately FAARA director Stuart Imer arrived at the club lodge USC Falls Creek a couple of days later and a successful transition back to walking (partial weight bearing) and double poling on her XC skis was commenced. With the help of Taping and ASO sports ankle brace (express post) Go Clare Louise!!

10.01.2022 Remember to lace your Ankle Sports Orthosis (ASO) brace with the logo upright to a mirror view. If you can read the text while fitting it you have it on upside down!!

10.01.2022 Recent inversion trauma Right ankle/rear-foot. But notice the medial instability indicated by reduced navicular height. Miss this and your patient will have long term medial instability and possible lateral compression/impingement. Camwalker til 6/52 post injury and then a rear-foot inverting orthotic plus sports ankle bracing is the minimum required. Care with orthotic application considering the lateral ligament component is vital.

10.01.2022 The teamwork behind the individual achievement.
