21.01.2022 HYUNDAI GIRLS NTC TRIAL DATES SET Trial dates have been set for the Hyundai Girls NTC, the elite female football development program in WA overseen by Football West and the FFA. Open trials will take place in October for the under-19s, who compete in the NPL Women's competition in Perth, as well as individual squads for players aged 13-15 in 2021.... Recent regional success stories from the NTC program include Esperance's Liana Cook and Albany's Jenna Onions, both of whom have gone on to compete in the W-League for Perth Glory. 15.01.2022 Football West will continue its commitment to clubs and associations by conducting a State-wide Facility Audit and Facility Plan. The audit, which is part of th...e Building Stronger Clubs Program, will take place over the next four months. It is designed to allow Football West to understand the needs of clubs and associations across Western Australia. 11.01.2022 KICK IT KAMBALDA - STARTS NEXT WEEK Kambalda soccer stars aged 4-11 (born 2016-2009) can now register for a five week Kick It Skills program in their own backyard. The introductory program has been launched with the support of the Shire of Coolgardie and is 100 per cent FREE for boys and girls from the community.... 08.01.2022 We went to East Kalgoorlie Primary School’s NAIDOC Family Fun Day today to deliver some of our awesome NAIDOC Week Belt Up soccer balls, emblazoned with the winning design submitted by Kimberley artist Hozaus Claire. More than a quarter of the entrants in this year’s competition were students at EKPS, where Football West ran an art and soccer workshop in February. We’re looking forward to seeing all the great designs coming through from artists in the Goldfields-Esperance reg...ion for the 2021 competition, which closes in February next year. 07.01.2022 The final whistle blew today for our Kick It Fives competition in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Thanks to the more than 100 players who took part over the past 10 weeks and all the team managers and game leaders who made it possible.... Thank you also to the support of Football West, the Goldfields Soccer Association, our official regional partner Gold Fields Australia and the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder so we could provide a winter soccer season for players aged 5 through 10 this year. Now we look forward to Country Week and Country Camp with plenty of Goldfields talent representing the region in Perth over the school holidays.

02.01.2022 KICK IT STORIES - SCHOOL CLINICS UNEARTH DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH While his exposure to team sports had been limited until this year, it is fair to say Kick It Football Fives live wire Steven Ford has taken to soccer like a duck to water. Steven’s natural aptitude for the game was identified by Football West development officer Josh Chiat during a school clinic.... It encouraged Steven, 7, to take up the game for the first time at our hub in Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Shirting up for the Red Roos, Ford’s progression has been evident for all to see and he has become recognised for his tireless defending, dribbling abilities and sharpness in front of goal. His father, also named Steven, said his development over the course of the season had been a joy to watch. He’s excited to play every week, which is the main thing as long as he wants to play, Ford Sr said. It’s great. I think this is the first team sport that he’s played and he’s just loving the fact of getting out to play with other kids. It’s excellent seeing the progression, especially from never playing the sport to playing nine games now, he’s definitely improved a lot over those nine games. The Red Roos have been flush with rookies this year, and their improvement as a side has been one of the good news stories of the competition. Their roster includes three players Lilly Birkett, Isabelle Birkett and Adeline Craig who started their soccer journeys through a MiniRoos Kickoff for Girls program held in Kalgoorlie earlier this year. There is just one round of Kick It Fives soccer to go for 2020, with the final set of games to take place at the Goldfields Oasis Playing Fields on Saturday from 8am. Gold Fields Australia
