02.01.2022 Sports Medicine Australia With the support of the Tasmanian Government, Sports Medicine Australia is delivering a Concussion in Sport workshop presented by Associate Professor Dr Andrew Gardner from the University of Newcastle. Concussion is a significant and complex health issue in Australian sport. Concussion research and education is vital for athlete and sport safety. ... This face to face workshop is essential learning for sports medicine professionals, sports trainers, sporting officials, volunteers and parents with a particular emphasis on the community sport setting. It aims to increase knowledge of concussion, its prevalence, the signs and symptoms, recognition and management, and return to play. The workshop will also provide an insight into long-term impacts and recent research. The event is on 24 May 2021 at 6.30 pm at Blundstone Arena and via Zoom at alternate hub destinations in Launceston and Penguin. 1.
