25.01.2022 At the start of this hard lock-down in Victoria, we decided to support kids giving them tools to improve their soccer technique and stay physically active. During The Soccer 6 Week challenge in a Facebook Group, Con Boutsianis has been providing free weekly sessions on Zoom, open for all those kids that wanted to join in. We created different challenges to motivate them, but the initiative that we are more proud of is pairing kids who are isolated in different areas in Victo...ria, so they can train together and support each other using technology. This is a screenshot of an awesome training session by Jimmy, Christianos, and Sam, where all 3 boys are working together, having fun, and improving their skills at the same time. In the last few months, we have been using technology more than ever but as adults, we have the responsibility to encourage children and teenagers to use social media platforms and digital tools wisely. 07.01.2022 Recently Chelsea lost 2-0 to Liverpool. Chelsea received a red card (Christensen) for a rugby tackle on Mane. Then Kepa made an error for the 2nd goal. Most teams these days are playing out of the back from a goal kick situation. It’s amazing the risk that teams are taking today to begin passing the ball from the front of their goal while they are being pressured by 2 to 4 players at a time. At that time Chelsea had 10 men so it didn’t make sense to pass your way out. The pro...bability of a team playing out from their goals and scoring at the other end is very minimal. Is it Kepa’s fault? It surely looks like it but don’t forget players have been told to follow this system of play and under pressure mistakes happen all the time. I think that teams don’t need to use this tactic even if they are winning. It’s way to dangerous. Today, if your not performing as a pla...yer, you can be earning insane amounts of money and be not playing because owners have the power to replace them in seconds. Developing players takes time, but no one wants to wait these days. The game is perceived as cruel at times so the smallest of details in the shot can determine whether the ball has more probability of going in then out.
