24.01.2022 Getting closer every day ... only a handful of tickets left. Top drawer speakers. Fellow fans. A who's who of writers and journos. What's not to love about #FWF2020? (Design below by Futbol Cult).

17.01.2022 We're in #lockdown. Our short, sweet, local, holiday break plans are in the dustbin. So we've got a Lockdown Book Giveaway instead! Read all about it here and enter to win! https://www.fairplaypublishing.com.au/lockdown-book-giveaway

16.01.2022 Looking forward to returning for FWF21!

15.01.2022 A mini-wrap from Texi Smith of the weekend's proceedings. Cheers Texi! https://texismith.wordpress.com/2020//23/fwf2020-mini-wrap/

14.01.2022 Another beautiful day to talk about the #beautifulgame #FWF2020 #Manly

12.01.2022 Guaranteed to be one of the highlights of #FWF2020 with Ray Gatt, Simon Hill, Valentino Migliaccio and Murray Shaw having a chat with Adrian Arciuli. Only 8 days to go!

12.01.2022 We’d like to thank the authors, journalists, writers and guests who have been part of the program, whether as a chair of a session or on a panel or in the spotlight. Once again, all of you have alternatively challenged, entertained, encouraged and motivated us. Thank you also to the speakers for forsaking a speakers' gift in lieu of a donation to either the Pararoos ($250), the Indigenous Literacy Foundation ($250), Amnesty International ($50) or Northern Beaches Community Ca...ncer Care ($50). The contribution of Adrian Arciuli should be noted. It’s tough being an MC at any time, but especially for the better part of two days straight, and keeping a bunch of your peers to time and to moderators' guidelines, and balancing that with the requirements of the venue for breaks and cleaning. The Football Writers’ Festival is made possible thanks to the Johnny Warren Football Foundation, FNR Football Nation Radio Synergy Sports & Fair Play Publishing Thank you to all; and also thank you to StreamGate and Dennis Fernandes for providing the live stream, especially for those who couldn't make it from Victoria and Queensland. Thank you also to Todd Blackwell from Newcastle who was our honorary photographer looking resplendent in the Festival t-shirt designed by Futbol Cult. It’s been a tough year for everyone. Bushfires, Covid, job losses, economic and business downturns, no football in most of the country, and more. Those of you who follow the Football Writers' Festival or Fair Play Publishing will know we’ve been determined to have the Festival this year because we think all of us needed it. We thought we needed to get to a point in the year where we could be together, have a vigorous and respectful debate, and catch-up with old and new friends and some people behind Twitter handles. Thank you to all of you for making the effort to be here. We hope we see you in 2021!

12.01.2022 Happy to partner with FNR Football Nation Radio for #FWF2020. Two innovators in the football ecosystem together. Read more here. https://www.footballwritersfestival.com.au//fnr-partners-w

10.01.2022 The view from the window at #FWF2020. Tomorrow & Sunday. And because of some late cancellations (due to travel & illness) we have a few more spots unexpectedly available for purchase. https://www.footballwritersfestival.com.au/event-details

10.01.2022 Some more of the faces you will see at this year's #FWF2020 (okay, admittedly, one you won't see). Only 10 days to go! footballwritersfestival.com.au

08.01.2022 Follow COVID safety rules when you visit a business, so they can stay open and we can continue to do the things we love.

08.01.2022 A beautiful day in downtown Manly (Sydney) in preparation for #FWF2020 starting tomorrow and going through till Sunday. A shout out of thanks to our partners & sponsors who help make it happen: Johnny Warren Football Foundation, StreamGate, FNR Football Nation Radio, Synergy Sports & of course Fair Play Publishing. See you tomorrow.

07.01.2022 As you can imagine, there's been a few shifts in the program in recent days with different Covid-related and other stuff. We're delighted to add to the line-up someone with impeccable background in the women's game to join the discussion on the legacy aspects of 2023, Tom Sermanni. Tom will join Alen Stajcic, academic & author Dr Michelle O'Shea, author & grassroots football fantatic Greg Noella Werner, and up-and-coming media innovator, Rose Valente. What a line-up! Moderator Emma Kemp will be in the big chair.

05.01.2022 Some things just can't be put in an audio file, so here's a treat for those who love all the stuff that Andrew Howe does so well ... his fabulous presentation from #FWF2020, entitled 'Data Talks: Diversity by Numbers'. Enjoy. https://youtu.be/vSQ9uFO50No

03.01.2022 The venue for this year's Festival, looking splendid in the (rare!) sunshine today, as we hope it will be in 19 days time. Will we see you there?

03.01.2022 We hope you have been enjoying our series of podcasts from last year’s Festival.

03.01.2022 As you're no doubt aware, NSW has had a health announcement locally which has an impact on our humble little Festival. The good news? The 2020 Football Writers' Festival will still be held on 21 & 22 November at Manly. The bad news? Our friends and guests from Victoria and Queensland will not be able to join us. We are really sorry about this, even more so because the Victoria/NSW border re-opens the day after the Festival.... To help us issue a refund to people from Victoria and Queensland (and noting that we don't seek this information from you when you register), could you please email us at [email protected] so we can organise the refund of your registration and/or dinner. We also now have more places available so if you haven't purchased a ticket and wish to do so, we now have more places. There will be some minor adjustments to the program because of some enforced absences, which we will make clear via the App and website, once finalised. If you would like to be part of the Festival by following the live stream, courtesy of StreamGate, please also email us at [email protected]. We will be in touch closer to the date with details of how to access the live stream. To our friends from Victoria and Queensland - we really, really, really look forward to seeing you in 2021!

01.01.2022 And to finish off #FWF2020, we welcome the FFA CEO, James Johnson, who will talk and answer questions about 'XI Principles' and all things football - with moderator Jonathan Howcroft. We remind you please to buy your tickets; because no tickets, no entry and we do not want you to be disappointed.
