23.01.2022 Dear parents, guardians, friends, educators and our wider community, As we are all aware of the fires that are causing absolute devastation to many friends, re...lations, acquaintances or people we dont know in our community. Our team have been discussing how we can help as all these people have either unfortunately lost everything or are just waiting to see if their homes have been saved or what is going to happen to their homes, pets and people around them as they have been evacuated or been put on alert to evacuate. Our Footprints Team would like to set up some baskets and we are asking our families, friends, other centres and the whole community to make a small donation of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING from NEW and OLD, food, toiletries, towels, toys, games, food for animals, water, milk, bubble bath for children, bubbles, books story and colouring, craft supplies etc We will be running this donation drive from the centre (21 Lamberts Road, Boambee East) so anything you can provide would be fabulous and very much appreciated, we will have 10 laundry baskets that you can place your donations into. Lets all do a little bit which will make a huge difference to those people whom have nothing left especially just weeks out from Christmas. Our team appreciates your help and if you have any other ideas please please add them. We will be delivering on Saturday 16th of November so please donate by this Friday. Stay safe everyone our love and thoughts are with everyone at this time Love Our Footprints Team xxx See more

23.01.2022 "Step by Step on a Piece of String, They thought it was such a wonderful stunt." The children have been enjoying this activity. With a lot of the children mastering these skills over the last week. Children with strong balance and coordination are less likely to fall over when climbing stairs or walking along an uneven surface. Gross motor skills like this can also help children build their core muscles, which helps them stay more stable during movement and when sitting, reducing the likelihood of injury.

23.01.2022 Just a reminder that Footprints will be closed on Monday the 27th January 2020 we would like to Wish all our families and friends a Happy Safe Australia Day weekend

18.01.2022 For those with children who may find it hard to explain what is going on, this makes a lovely bedtime story. The Time We Spring-Cleaned the World The world ...it got so busy, There were people all around. They left their germs behind them; In the air and on the ground. These germs grew bigger and stronger. They wanted to come and stay. They didnt want to hurt anyone - They just really wanted to play. Sometimes they tried to hold your hand, Or tickled your throat or your nose. They could make you cough and sneeze And make your face as red as a rose. And so these germs took over. They started to make people ill, And with every cough we coughed More and more germs would spill. All the queens and kings had a meeting. Its time to clean the world up! they said. And so they had to close lots of fun stuff, Just so these germs couldnt spread. We couldnt go to cinemas Or restaurants for our tea. There was no football or parties, The world got as quiet as can be. The kids stopped going to school, The mums and dads went to work less. Then a great, big, giant scrubbing brush Cleaned the sky and the sea and the mess! Dads started teaching the sums, Big brothers played with us more, Mums were in charge of homework And we read and played jigsaws galore! The whole world was washing their hands And building super toilet roll forts! Outside was quiet and peaceful, Now home was the place for all sports. So we played in the world that was home And our days filled up with fun and love, And the germs they grew smaller and smaller And the sun watched from up above. Then one morning the sun woke up early, She smiled and stretched her beams wide. The world had been fully spring cleaned, It was time to go back outside! We opened our doors oh so slowly And breathed in the clean and fresh air. We promised thar forever and always Of this beautiful world wed take care! 08.01.2022 Dear Families Our centre is having Assessment and Ratings next Wednesday and Thursday. This assessment is to determine what level of rating the service meets under the National Quality Standard. Kerri Mitchell will be coming into the centre to see how great our centre is. This will be done through the observation of our practices, documentation and questioning educators in every room throughout the two days. If we could please ask our families to add a post here or on our parent input section on our program at the centre about how Footprints and our team do great what you and your children love about our centre or how we can improve as we value your feedback and it's important to us and our Quality Improvement Plan and it will provide the assessor with feedback from our families giving her an idea of what we are like.

04.01.2022 Living Safely with Dogs Today we had a visit from Sally and her lovely dog. They were here to educate us about being safe around dogs. The children learnt when dogs should be left alone like when they are eating or sleeping or when they have puppies. we also learnt the different body languages of a happy/relaxed, nervous/frightened and angry/aggressive dog through song and dance. We learnt the safe way to approach a dog like "no owner, no lead, no touch".... We also practised with Sally and her her children had to ask "May i pat your dog?" then move closer with a closed hand to let the dog smell them then they were allowed to pat the dog on her back. 03.01.2022 Reminder to all Christmas Concert and Graduation TONIGHT 6:30PM Bombee School Hall. See you all there

01.01.2022 DRESS UPS EVERYWHERE. Princesses, Witches, Skeletons, Builders and Superheroes were just some of what came to Footprints this week. We also had a lot of interest in Halloween this week, with educators setting up craft and activities for the children to continue exploring this interest through. Children explored the roles of what they had come as. Dress up play isnt just fun for children. Its an important activity where they use their imaginations, build vocabulary skills, gain confidence and more. Dramatic play is roleplaying and storytelling that helps children develop ideas about how the world works.
