19.01.2022 It was great to be back at Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) this afternoon and provide volunteer Podiatry services for persons seeking asylum #podiatry #charity

18.01.2022 Volunteer with the ASRC Health Program The Health Team provides comprehensive primary care services together with specialist clinics including psychiatry, pa...in management, immunisation and diabetes management to people seeking asylum. Our clients' complex health needs require multiple consultations across a range of health disciplines. The majority of the people accessing our service have no income and are on Visas denying them work-rights and Medicare. We're recruiting volunteer psychiatrists, registered nurses, general practitioners, mental health clinicians and physiotherapists, to make a difference in the lives of people seeking asylum. Applications close midnight, Wednesday 18th November Apply now! https://asrc.org.au/become-a-volunteer/apply-now/ #ASRCVolunteer

14.01.2022 Through our work at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) it is apparent persons seeking asylum have difficulty prioritising foot health. In their refugee health model Foundation House verifies initial health assessment and contact typically addresses immediate concerns before longer term preventative health care is considered. Over time persons seeking asylum are then able to increase their knowledge and autonomy over health outcomes by exposure to health information and health promotion activities, including that of Podiatry and foot health. #podiatry #charity

14.01.2022 Today is our 11th birthday! Its been a tough road though with the help our supporters Footscape has proudly achieved: - Eight years of free Podiatry services provided to recipients of care at the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. - 31,000 pairs of new socks/new footwear/ second hand footwear distributed to homeless persons, asylum seekers, financially disadvantaged children, Aboriginal persons and victims of domestic violence at over forty affiliate organisations. - 700 foot ca...re kits distributed to homeless persons, asylum seekers and Aboriginal persons to promote daily self-care foot health. - 300 pairs of orthotic devices distributed, predominately to financially disadvantaged children with clinical needs. - Small international projects, with focus chiefly upon Equatorial Opportunities and advancing diabetic foot care in Nauru. - Endorsement as a charity by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. Nonetheless there is still much work to do. Please get involved and help us promote foot health for all. #podiatry #charity #footwear #socks #foothealth #getinvolved #donate

01.01.2022 Great news! Our Diabetic Foot Management project in the Solomon Islands will continue for another year This project is vital to the communities of the Solomon... Islands who live in one of the top 12 countries in the world for diabetes prevalence. Since the program began in July 2019, Motivation Australia and the Ministry of Health & Medical Services (MHMS) have achieved so much. As well as planning for remote and in-person training in diabetic foot care and wound offloading, MA has also provided much-needed materials for a new National Diabetes Clinic which despite delivery delays due to COVID-19, is now just weeks away from welcoming its first patients. Thanks to Canada Down Under for making this project possible. We're looking forward to what the next year will bring You can read more about this project on our website. https://bit.ly/2ZwaD3y
