The West Gate Tunnel Project has partnered with Victoria Universi...ty Polytechnic to offer civil construction courses to get people skilled-up to work on the project. To cater for this, VU will be REOPENING the Werribee TAFE campus. The project will create 6000 jobs with 500 apprenticeships on offer. Local jobs and apprenticeships for VU TAFE students! Yesterday we blew bubbles at the Ethiopian New Year Festival, but mostly we just celebrated. It was amazing and we can’t wait to do it again next year. Happy Ethiopian New Year!

10.01.2022 Last night my family attended the Australia Light Foundation’s final iftar dinner for Ramadan. There were 500 people in attendance to share a meal - people of m...any different faiths, community groups, cultures and ethnicities. It truly reflected who we are as a community - diverse, harmonious and generous. I felt very grateful to be part of it. Thanks to the Australia Light Foundation for everything they do to support communities in #melbswest and to bring people together. #Ramadan #RamadanMubarak

08.01.2022 The importance of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) can't be overstated - not just for Footscray, but for Victoria. I'm delighted to announce that they'...re receiving a funding boost of $171,500 to support its continued delivery of frontline legal assistance services. It was great to share this news with Kon last week. It's part of a $30 million funding boost from the Andrews and Federal Government for Community Legal Centre Funding. Taken last year by Sam Biddle.
