25.01.2022 The AFL has asked fans to ask Gill McLachlan a question about AFL X. Here is a couple of questions weve been asking for years. Don't like our chances of getting a response. Hi Gill, FOOTY NINES was told by a number of people from within the AFL system that our fast paced, high scoring T20 version FOOTY NINES (9 Players, 9 minute halves, 9 point supergoals on a smaller field) was going to be supported. Can you please explain why the AFL, as the governing body of the sport of A...ustralian Football who receives tax payer funding to fulfill this privileged role, made the choice to bring out your own very very similar AFL X concept? (10 player, 10 min halves, 10 point supergoal on a smaller ground is eerily similar Gill??) FOOTY NINES was told years ago that you were doing a review into what transpired between F9s, the AFL and the WAFC but surprise surprise we havent heard back from you. 25.01.2022 So the AFL is still developing their T20, shortened format?? Why doesnt the governing body of Australian football support FOOTY NINES which has been developed and proven for 9 years? Thats right because they aren't a governing body who helps support and promote the sport of Australian football, they are a $Billion corporation who crushes anyone who steps on their turf. Instead of following through with supporting our concept as we were initially told, they decide to bring out... their own version to be in direct competition. A governing body thats in direct competition with grasstoots football seems counter intuitive. We need to end the AFL gravy train. What percentage of their massive profits actually goes to the betterment of grassroots football? 25.01.2022 Yes Gill, AFL X would work so much better if you had a couple of extra players on each team so there were a few more contests and fans could then witness all of the spectacular elements like contested marking, bumps and tackles. AFL X is devoid of those skills. An extra 30m or so in the length of your field would mean that there was actually a couple of possessions needed before you can have a shot on goal. At the elite level 40m is too short for the supergoal. The AFL would of known that if they did as much research and development as F9s did. #imitationisthegreatestformofflattery #neverbeasspectacular

07.01.2022 PLAY OF THE WEEK - ROUND 4 Big Dawgs trail the Bulls by 7 points with 28 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter. McDonald kicks out of full back for the Big Dawgs. He kicks to a contest 50m out on the grandstand side of the ground.... Wilson launches, gets a good ride on Farrahs back and pulls in a one handed screamer. Wilson hits the ground running and shoots a handpass out to Jackson. Jackson is hit with a crunching tackle but manages to slip out a handball back to a running Wilson. Wilson is confronted by an opposition Bulls player but gives the don't argue and fends off the challenger with ease. Wilson takes a bounce and sees more space ahead off him so he takes a second bounce. A Bulls defender steps in his path but Wilson pulls out a spin move that breaks the defenders ankles. Wilson takes a third bounce then sets sail for home from 9 point Supergoal territory. The ball goes straight through the big sticks for 9 points with just seconds remaining and steals the win for the undefeated Big Dawgs .
