13.01.2022 Can anyone help Five Freedoms Animal Rescue? From their Facebook page: Some time ago, our fabulous vet, Laura, provided us with a number of second hand IV infusion pumps to enable us to better care for critically sick animals at our shelter. Other great vets who visit our shelter to examine and treat our animals establish intravenous infusion lines and administer IV meds for us. This has been a game-changer. Thanks to this technology and wonderful assistance, our survival rat...es have increased considerably. Recently, I attempted to place an order for the infusion giving sets that fit our machines, (which are quite expensive), to find that this product is no longer available because the pumps and the special infusion sets have been discontinued. I have conducted extensive web searches for alternative suppliers and possible alternate brands, without success, rendering our life-saving pumps useless! The infusion sets are called Smiths Primary Sets (Ref 8C820). Our pumps are Graseby 3000 model. If anyone knows of medical suppliers or medical centres that might have redundant stock and can help us obtain more giving sets, we would be eternally in your debt and more than grateful for your assistance. Our only other choice is to purchase newer pumps, but these are awfully expensive, and beyond our meagre budget.

03.01.2022 Aussies...it's an early start but if you're wanting to understand the underbelly of captive breeding and the commodification of wildlife, this is a must. If you think wet markets in China are the sole reason we're experiencing a pandemic, there's a whole cesspool of legal trade that goes under the radar. VIA Blood Lions... 02.01.2022 Via Nature Needs More Animals In War - We Have Forgotten Them. A few years ago I was in London walking around Hyde Park when I came across the very moving The Animals in War Memorial, which was unveiled in November 2004. As it states ‘They Had No Choice’, and I couldn’t help thinking if they had, knowing how badly humans treat them, would they have told us to f..k off; you really couldn’t blame them if they had of told us where to go, could you?... And as recently as 1987, Iraqi troops allegedly used elephants to transport heavy weaponry for use in Kirkuk. On 11 November, it is time to help people remember the contribution animals made in warfare. Maybe this is the story to tell people who don’t see the point of giving to wildlife conservation. And, that because we have forgotten them, they have been needlessly and ruthlessly commercialised. Today, we use elephant skin in handbags and car interiors, simply because the trade in exotic species has been normalised. Hugh profits are made from the legal trade in endangered species, while the regulator of this trade, CITES, languishes in a 1970s paper-based system that is unfit for purpose and enable the illegal trade: https://natureneedsmore.org/trade/ Society must be honest - We Have Forgotten Them #FLOWildlife #RememberanceDay Conservation Action Trust Two Million Tusks Elephants DC Save the Elephants #AnimalsInWar
