17.01.2022 Growing up as a child, i always had my mum making sweets and learning how to make cakes, biscuits, slices , anything you could imagine from books that her mum and her grandmother had given to her, and now that i am married i'd always wanted to provide the same thing for my husband. However due to the nature of my work, i couldnt possibly be making a fresh cake or slice for him to have until last week he finally asked me.. ("you always used to make cakes for me and now i get n...othing.. please can you make the best cake youve ever made.?"). So on both of my days off i made 2 cakes, one of which i ended up making 2 of in a week. Surely theres all of this research out there about how you shouldnt have gluten,sugar,nuts,soy blah blah blah, but 50 years ago there werent allergies and reactions and high sugar, low sugar and all the rest. I am feeling inspired to provide my husband a cake every week until he asks for no more.

13.01.2022 Earlier on this page. I posted up some of my "famous" wagon wheels. This week. Ive created a breakfast dish with a deconstructed wagon wheel with crepes. My ultimate all time favourite breakfast item. Marshmallow cream, chocolate ganache, homemade raspberry jam, honey biscuit crumb and a raspberry macaron.

09.01.2022 Back on the diet wagon again.. after our holiday im feeling so inspired. Not just about losing weight, but not treating my body like a rubbish bin. Plus it tastes so good to be healthy!



07.01.2022 Roast potatoes like never before! Christmas lunch consists of succulent roast and vegies. One of my favourite being roast potatoes and gravy. However over my years of cooking i have learnt how to turn a pretty average roast potato into the best youve ever had!. Best potatoes to use are brushed desiree potatoes wash and peel 1kg. Steam for 14 minutes until slightly resistant. Cool and using your fork scratch the outside of the potato for later use. ... In deep frying pan add a few table spoons of pork fat or vegetable lard. This will give u the crunchiest roast potatoes youve ever had. 2 crushed garlic cloves whole, zest of 1 lemon, 6 sprigs of rosemary and thyme chopped. Plenty of salt and pepper. And shallow fry until very crispy and golden colour, at the very last minute 1/4 bunch fresh parsely. Yum!

07.01.2022 On the first day of christmas santa gave to me, grilled peaches and maple ham. Slice ham of the.bone 1 cm thick and squeeze over some real canadian maple syrup and place in the oven for 10 minutes on 160.degrees until.ham.is glazed and hot. Cut cheeks off peaches and soak in bacardi. Grill on chargrill until marked and warmed through. Make a salad to serve with both consisting rocquette ... , almonds, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Enjoy! See more

02.01.2022 At last!! I have finally mastered macarons. These delicious little biscuits, different coloured, flavoured, different fillings or toppings. They need so much love and attention. 6 minutes for meringue, almond and sugar sifted 4 times so only the extremly small grains can be used. ... No over beating allowed. No more than 30 folds allowed. Needs a shWeiny smooth top. Oh and dont over bake. Why are you so delicious??

02.01.2022 All last week. I was busy marinating this beautiful piece of pork shoulder. 2 days of marinating. 1 day in dry rub. Then smoked on the charcoal bbq. And finally slow cooked in its original juices. . Put into this soft bun with american mustard, swiss cheese, ham, pickles and chipotle mayo.
