23.01.2022 Hi guys, we get asked all the time do we use milk lab? Or why don't you use milk lab? So we thought we would do a post to explain. Firstly i would hardly even call it almond milk as it only contains 3.5% almonds, the rest is filled with sugars, sweeteners, highly processed seed oils, stabilisers, foaming agents and other crap. To be honest i would hardly even call it a type of food or drink. We make our own milk every day containing only 4 ingredients. Filtered water, organic... almonds, organic cashews, sea salt. We also use a much higher percentage of nuts, being 22% which are also activated before milking to help you digest them easier. We feel that people are attracted to the sweetness of milk lab, but don't be fooled into thinking you aren't getting any with your humble morning "almond milk" coffee, because it contains cane sugar and high fructose corn syrup. You are better off having an alternative almond milk with a natural sweetener such as maple, honey or raw sugar added into it. We don't use any processed seed oils, refined sugar, preservatives or other junk anywhere in our cafe, so we aren't going to start feeding it to you daily with your morning brew. Hopefully this helps you to make the healthy choice and if you can't get home made, try to get something like inside out or nutty bruce. Numbers aren't food guys! See more

19.01.2022 A CATERING JOB FOR TODAY Our slow cooked lamb was in good company today with some big mixed salads, house made relishes, pickles and sauces, berkelo bread and quality butter. All organic and everything made from scratch. The perfect post wedding lunch spread. Message or email us if you have an event big or small we would love to chat.

We have some cool things you might not find anywhere else, our staff are super friendly and all our produce is fresh organic and lovingly looked after. Next time you stop by for a coffee duck in and checknit out. It's much easier and more pleasant than going to a big supermarket. 05.01.2022 We hate waste and love hot sauce. So we use some of our organic produce from next door to make some flavoursome sauces for you guys to use. You will find them on the water/cutlery stand... enjoy!

01.01.2022 Alot of you may have already heard the news, for those of you who haven't... this will be our last week for forage! We have sold the business and the new owners will be closing for a few weeks to do some exciting new renovations. It is very bitter sweet for us, we have loved our time in avalon and have loved spending it with all our beautiful customers. It truely has been a very special experience, and thank you all for supporting our dream, making us part of your lives, shar...ing many laughs, stories and banter, we have loved every minute of our journey. We will be very sad to close this chapter, however it is time for us to focus on our family and have a little break. We will still be at @thenookwholefoods if you are ever passing by, drop in and say hi. Also keep an eye on this space as we will keep the account going and you never know how, when or what we might get up to next.
