22.01.2022 Hello, here is beautiful peaceful image of the river confluence for your viewing pleasure.. where the Broken River meets Kaiela (Goulburn River) on Yorta Yorta Country. This one was taken a little while ago. My daily nature walks have been part of my routine for a long time but now more than ever I am so grateful (in Aus at least) we are allowed to leave the house to walk for exercise (plus fresh air and improved mental health). I hope you’re all still getting up and moving about too! Where is your favourite place to go for a walk? Let us know and then phones off and head on out there

18.01.2022 Having some Easter fun with natural all edible playdough (but just because it’s edible doesn’t mean you should eat it!). Therefore this is a Mindfulness game (just like the rest of life). Be consciously aware of your surroundings moment to moment, without reacting and make the choices about your life that you want to make, instead of letting life take the choices from you. You are strong, courageous and bold and you are in control and you can have a couple more Easter eggs if... you choose to do so! Why is the bunny rabbit the one delivering the chocolate eggs anyway? Shouldn’t it be a chicken with eggs? I’m very confused. Anyway turmeric dye works on playdough as well as paper and I tried out the beetroot idea for pink colour, thanks @inward.healing Gumnut eyes and stick whiskers! Look out for the playdough recipe in a KidsTown video on the Get Mooving Facebook in a few weeks time. Have a Happy Healthy Easter everyone :) Stay connected with loved ones online and have your easter hunt in the backyard. You could set your camping site up in the backyard too if you want :)

13.01.2022 Yesterday I did a little science experiment with things from my kitchen and garden, to naturally make some watercolours. The turmeric and cacao came up great, I added cornflower to make the brighter yellow dots. The rose petals were about to fall off a flower that had finished and they were shriveled and dried. I put a petal in hot water and left it over night to see if any colour would come out of the petal into the water, this didn’t work, however the petal grew back to its... full bloom and I sat it on the page and let it dry there and it left a beautiful print. Definitely try this one at home! Then I also realised the other dried petals when dipped in water could be used like a crayon on the paper. I tried using red wine vinegar, this left a funny almost clear water stain but later turned the rose petal stains blue. The paper is dry now and I’ve cut it up and used it to make some positive affirmations that I’ll tell you more about later. Happy Super Full Moon in Libra everyone. Don’t forget to put your crystals out and set some new intentions or positive thoughts. Sending love from Emily

12.01.2022 MEDITATION TIP 1 CREATE A SAFE SPACE This is for you. This is your time and your space. Meditate in the same spot each day. Either on a chair with feet firmly planted on the ground or on a solid cushion or block in a comfortable cross legged or kneeling position on the floor. Make sure the crown of your head is directly above your seat and spine extending up tall. Then you can relax your shoulders, arms, fingers, forehead, eyelids, jaw. This is a little image I drew of an i...nternally safe space. Boundless connection to pure consciousness balanced with love in our hearts and roots grounded deep in the Earth. Balance is the key here. Yin and Yang, Light and Dark, Elated yet Grounded, not striving, Clear thought, at Peace and Content and in limitless Love with thy self and all of life ~With Peace from Emily

10.01.2022 MEDITATION TIP 3 ~ SET A DATE WITH YOURSELF! And follow through with the date Yep you read that right, take yourself on a date and get to know yourself!... A meditation date that is. . Set a weekly or daily time with reminders and remove distractions, tell the people you are living with not to disturb you for 30 minutes. . Do something to let your mind and body know they are preparing for meditation. Set your note book up with a pen that writes easily. Pour a glass of water or make a cup of tea, light a candle or some incense and set the scene. Put your phone on aeroplane mode, empty your bowels, brush your teeth if you are doing this first thing in the morning and dedicate this time for you. Set yourself up and stay in your space until you have completed your meditation. . I would recommend picking a morning time but this is completely up to you when it suits you best to take yourself on your medi date. Pick a time or time range and try to stick with it. If you meditate at the same time or between the same time period each day, this helps to build a new positive habit. This is not a chore. I repeat this is not a chore. You have to want to do this, along with the rational voice in your head asking you on the date. Check out my Meditation Tip 2 post about asking WHY and setting intentions if you’re having trouble with this. . Write, write write. Write down how you feel after your meditation and any thoughts that came up. This is all about getting to know yourself and your inner mind. Write whatever you like, just write! Ask yourself, Who Am I? You can even meditation on this question. . Set yourself up for an epic day. Write down your daily intentions. Write down a daily gratitude list. Write down positive and uplifting affirmations to counteract any of that pesky negative self-talk. . Tell yourself what you thought of the date and plan when the next one will be. . In my next Tip we’ll be getting to know our breath See you then! . You’ve got this epic human . Image I drew of my meditation dates See more

10.01.2022 LETS TALK ABOUT FEELINGS OF GUILT ~ I want to talk for a moment about feelings of guilt and shame that might be coming up for you at this time, in response to a realisation of the prolonged underlying systemic racism in this country, in the USA and globally. And say, yes that’s great, to acknowledge your privilege and acknowledge that you have never had to feel like this before and that it’s uncomfortable. BUT please don’t just hang out there in a pity guilt shame pit for th...e rest of your days! Pulling the wool over your eyes was never helpful to anyone. Feeling ashamed of your actions, past actions, your families or friends actions or your lack of actions is not helpful to anyone and in fact it is more inaction. Yes do the inner work. Do your self work and recognise what white privilege means and how you are advantaged in this society and how you can use that advantage to help overs in need but don’t stop being amazing and doing the work and practices that YOU need to support yourself. Your meditation and mindfulness will help you comprehend all that you are feeling, without going crazy. Your meditation and mindfulness and movement practices will get you into action in working on your value aligned path towards positive change, social change and social justice. Also note I'm not trying to de-value anyone's feelings here. FEEL Feel all of the feelings Feel everything you need to feel Let it wash through you and don't hold it within you ~ Forgive yourself Use the power in those emotions Channel it into your work, your creativity, your conversations, your behaviours, your life. You are alive in an incredible time in human history. So please don’t stop looking after yourself because your strength is important to everyone. I believe in you. I believe you have the strength to recognise what is happening here and what needs to change and who to call out and where to invest your time and money to make sure that Black and Indigenous voices are amplified, heard and responded to. This is huge systemic social change on a global scale that each of us have a positive part to play in! Go forth my friends. Peace and love to all

03.01.2022 Happy Easter Everyone . Easter bunny basket idea~ Up-cycling a gift bag with gum leaf and rose petal bunny ears. Gum leaves found fallen on the ground and rose petals from an old rose that was about to end. Yes I’ve actually stitched them onto the bag and drawn on some eyes, nose and bunny teeth. I gave these chocolates to my parents, they appreciated the effort and I appreciated the therapeutic crafting .... Did you know the foil from your Easter Eggs is RECYCLABLE? 01.01.2022 MEDITATION TIP 2 WHY ARE YOU MEDITATING? Ask yourself this question and know your WHY. Better yet, write down a list of whys and break those whys down further too. Set some clear intentions behind your practice. What are you hoping to achieve? Who is the person that you are hoping to become or be more of if you choose to meditate every day or every week? Honestly ask yourself WHY AM I GOING TO PRACTICE and what is this all for? Maybe even do some research about the benefits... but the main thing is knowing WHY this is important to YOU. Because these WHYs are what will make you practice every day you practice. If your brain knows WHY you are doing something it starts to build myelin around the neurons in your nervous system that communicate with and allow your mind and body to do those things. The more myelin around the neurons that help you meditate make it easier and smoother for you to get ready, set up and start your practice. The myelin gets stronger with purpose and with practice like the old saying practice makes perfect. I would say there is no such thing as perfect meditation, but it can get easier, and you will become calmer in your body and mind. So ask and answer your WHY and revisit them often. You can ask yourself WHY and write down reasons for anything that you want to achieve in your life and get the same result, making it easier for you to carry out that task and achieve your dreams. Have you done this before with your goals? Let me know your WHYs Photo by Trix Pix Photography ~With Peace from Emily
