24.01.2022 Learn Through Play We all love it when our kids play they are having fun and we might get a few minutes to ourselves to send that email or have a cuppa and a minute to breathe. However, play is far more powerful for children than many of us realise. It’s actually the key to learning. Researchers and educators across the world have found that play can help enrich learning and develop key skills such as inquiry, expression, experimentation, and teamwork. Exposing your child to a variety of different toys helps build different skills and we would love to help you pick out some toys next time you come in. We are open this Sat morning so see you then! 21.01.2022 Toy library OPEN tomorrow 930-1130. The Fisher Price Drop & Roar dinosaur is a great toy for the littlies’ from 6 months. Do you notice your babies grow out of their toys so quickly? Toy library is a great solution to this, creating less waste (and clutter in your home ). #borrowdontbuy #reducewaste

21.01.2022 If you haven’t yet borrowed one of our Farm Boards from @youngcreativefarms , you really must get onto it! They are universally loved by kids of all ages (truly) and they are basically indestructible. We have just added a new header to one of our sets... thought it was as good a time as any to jump on the harvest bandwagon!

20.01.2022 Did you know we have over 400 toys for kids ages 0-8?! For just $40 annual membership you can borrow up to 4 toys at a time. We have recently purchased some beautiful new dolls and they have been well loved already. We are open tomorrow from 9.30-11.30 so come in and swap your toys over. #borrowdontbuy

19.01.2022 HOT TIP! One of our members made up this rule for when they visit the Toy Library-both kids can choose a toy each, and then the parent gets a pick! It’s a great idea as this way kids get exposed to different toys that may not look that enticing in a tub. We often find that with our dress ups...sometimes they are not a kid’s first choice but if you take one home they are hard to resist! Maybe you could try this tomorrow too? Surprise your family with that random toy that might end up being the pick of the week! See you from 9.30-11.30!

19.01.2022 There he is! Harry is loving our Crawl and See Me Tunnel. There are so many benefits to crawling! As well as developing strength, crawling helps both sides of the brain work together and can also help the development of your baby’s visual skills. The clear top panel on this tunnel makes it less daunting, and it’s great for encouraging crawling play for kids of all ages. It’s not just for babies, so def give it a go! We are open in the morning from 9.30-11.30am so see you then.

17.01.2022 Try before you buy! Unsure if your toddler will take to a 3-wheel scooter or trike? Wondering if those magnets are all they are cracked up to be? By borrowing from the Toy Library you can see what toys your kids are really into, and also get a close up look at the durability and quality of the toys. Whilst we are big fans of the #borrowdontbuy movement, some toys are handy to own so at least after giving it a test run you can be confident spending your hard earned cash on it. Our new Pirate Ship Water Table has buckets, spinning wheels, a fountain and even a water cannon that you can aim and squirt! Your kids will love it. 09.01.2022 MEET THE COMMITTEE Here’s our awesome President Amy... a calm, friendly, organised leader who has a knack for finding unique toys that our members go nuts for! Over to you Amy... I joined TL committee because I really wanted to give something back to the Forbes community after being welcomed so warmly many years ago when I first moved here. I felt the TL committee was a great place to start as it was full of friendly, easy going mums who all had the same vision of providin...g member’s kids with a high quality selection of toys that will benefit their development in many ways. TL duty is never a drag - it’s always a fun place to hang out and catch up with all the parents and kids. And her kids fave toys? My 5 year old daughter’s favourite is both of the Doctor’s sets! My 3 year old daughter’s favourite toy is the Hape BBQ. Thanks for being such a great President Amy! Don’t forget Toy Lib open in the morning for our fortnightly Thursday session. See more
