14.01.2022 Following the announcement today from the Victorian Government, the state will be in a hard lockdown from 11:59pm tonight Friday 12th February, for 5 days until Wednesday 17th February 11:59pm. As a result, the Centre will be CLOSED from Saturday 13th to Wednesday 17th February. We are deeply saddened that we have to close again and our children and families are missing more swimming experience.... At this stage, we will re-open on Thursday 18th February with lessons resuming as normal from 9:15am.

10.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! Following this morning’s announcement from the Premier, lessons will re-commence tomorrow morning from 9:15am. We look forward to seeing all our families back again!

04.01.2022 The learn to swim industry has some big names behind it to get pools open. We hope it is not far away.

03.01.2022 The team at the Ford Swim Centre were hoping that this week, prior to Term 4 of the school year, we would bring you news of a potential date for opening of the pool and the return of learn to swim lessons. Regrettably, even though Regional Victoria has a case average of 0.2, we have received no advice from the Victorian Government of a date when indoor pools in any part of the State (Regional or Metro) will open. In fact, as it stands now the regional areas will have to wait ...until there have been zero new cases in both Metro and Regional Victoria for more than 14 days before Regional Victoria can move to the Final Step of easing restrictions. We have been involved in aquatic industry alliance groups, spoken to our local MP who raised the opening of indoor pools in parliament and been interviewed on ABC radio and television, all to no avail. Whilst we have our strong opinions of whether this situation is fair for regional Victoria the bottom line is that we, as a Learn to Swim business, are unable to open for children lessons, adult lessons, swimming club and schools at this time. We can only hope that there will be realisation in Government circles that thousands of children in Regional and Metro Victoria are missing out on vital water confidence skills as we head into summer and common sense prevails, even if it can only be for regional centres. We apologise to you, our swimming community, and will do everything we can to get our learn to swim business back open. Thank you for your continued support. Kind regards, Michelle, Brian, Cam and the wonderful FSC team of instructors.

03.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Cam Juha who announced his engagement yesterday to Rachel Kearns. From all the team at FSC we wish you both the very best in your future together.

03.01.2022 The Centre had a visit from 2008 Olympic Bronze 100 metre butterfly medalist Andrew Lauterstein this morning. Andrew was part of the opening for the new 50 metre indoor Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre in Traralgon and dropped by to check out our facilities. Andrew himself is the owner of 2 swim schools in metro Melbourne and it was great to bounce ideas.

01.01.2022 Tonight the Centre ran its first Come & Try meet for the year with 45 young Learn to Swim children competing in 25 metre races in all strokes. The swimmers were super excited and showed great enthusiasm for each other's efforts. Thank you parents for bringing your children and supporting, thank you learn to swim teachers for your positivity with each child's performance and thank you swimmers for being so keen. A terrific night of youthful exuberance!

01.01.2022 There is an enormous amount of work being done by those in the aquatics industry to open pools for learn to swim. Who better than to have Laurie Lawrence push our cause. The science in this article to open pools is also compelling. Let’s hope we are back in the water soon.
