03.01.2022 Congratulations Kate

02.01.2022 As the 2020 Season has now come to an end, it is time to look back and celebrate what we have achieved. We registered 20 teams - from Auskick right up to U18YG. We got to play all our home games no more washouts !... We had 6 teams play in finals and had 2 bring home Premiership Flags (U15-3 and U16YG-1). We had 5 of our mighty Forest Lions recognised by AFL Sydney in the Sydney Harbour Competition Best + Fairest count. Congratulations also goes to our two newest Life Members Ken Johnston and Tony Eyres. Ken has been with the Forest Lions for over 13 years and during this time he has been involved in the Committee, has been a representative on the AFL Regional Committee, coached a number of teams and has also been our Coaching Coordinator. Like Ken, Tony has also been with the Forest Lions for many years. During his time at Forest he has been involved with the Committee in various roles - including being the Club Treasurer. Most importantly, Tony was an integral part of the development of Youth Girls football on the Northern Beaches. In recognition of all Tony’s hard work, the Club has also had a new medal cast, the Tony Eyres Medal, and this will now be presented to the Female Senior Club Champion. The inaugural winner of the Tony Eyres Medal is Peggy Stanbury. Although we were unable to hold a full Club Presentation Day as we have done in the past, we can still recognise the achievements of some of our players and we would like to take this opportunity to publicly acknowledge and congratulate our mighty Forest Lions for their efforts in Season 2020.
