25.01.2022 Because who doesnt love a bit of tiny human spam on a Monday morning

24.01.2022 NEW PRINT A rainbow baby; A child born after loss. A precious gift, but never a replacement, for the life or lives not able to be held today ... And then there was you. Our light in darkness, our rainbow. Online now in both swaddles and plush Minky blankets https://www.forestandfox.com.au//plush-minky-blanket-rainb

23.01.2022 HEADWEAR SAFETY Being a first time parent, everything is new, you dont know how to do this job, theres no instruction manual (whos cruel idea was that? Rude.). Most of us turn to good ol social media to see how the heck others are doing this parenting thing. So to you mama, sleep deprived and scrolling the gram, I want to make sure you know a few things. I know you see 99% of photos showing tiny humans sound asleep, wearing adorable beanies and headbands BUT (a...nd I cannot stress this enough), ANY kind of headwear is NOT for sleeping in, ever. Most photos are shown with the tiny human asleep because, well, they sleep a lot in the early days, its easier to get gorgeous photos with them asleep AND its no fun posting a photo of a screaming baby.. right? So please dont think those babies are going to sleep in what you see in photos, its not safe. Not for night sleep, not for naps. Other situations where headwear should be removed: In the car. Always remember to remove any headwear as soon as you put them in the car. They can easily become a hazard if they pull them over their nose or if the headband wraps around their neck. In the pram. Unless you can SEE that cute little face and quickly respond at all times, remove it mama. I like little phrases to remind me, like this one: If you cant see my face, its not safe PS: Who else thinks Bobbys eyes are willing you to tell him all your secrets? See more

23.01.2022 For most, today they celebrate. But for many, today they grieve. For those who have lost mums, wives, children or are unable to have a family of their own. Today those hearts ache and today I am thinking of you To the boy who made me a mum, I love you I wont eat peas for you but lets hope it never comes to that Personally, Ive always thought mums deserved more than one day. Hell, we deserve 365 days of WORSHIP. Its a roller coaster but I cant imagine not being a... mum, even on the hardest days where Ive considered putting him up for sale Nothing makes you appreciate your own mum greater or deeper than stepping into the role yourself. Im so grateful that today I get to hug my mum and give my son all the forced kisses, while he wriggles free to go and do better things then be with mum #ouchokaybye Since its my day, Julian has offered to fold the washing and let me sit on the couch relaxing all day. He even said I can watch grown up tv (soz Wiggles). I hope however you spend today, its full of love and kindness @veritylillyphotography capturing my favourite kind of cuddle

23.01.2022 Some mama love and horn tootn in the same post because why not My swaddles are super stretchy, theyll grow with your tiny human. But what use are they when youve passed the swaddle stage? Im glad you asked. Once the precious human you gave life to decides a swaddle can no longer hold those arms from being free, DONT PUT IT IN STORAGE (the swaddle, not the human). Other ways your swaddle will become your BFF while doing mum life:... Feeding cover: the medium weight fabric is perfect in winter or summer in cooler climates. Cant risk offending a stranger with the sight of some exposed skin, right? Pram cover in winter: ew germs. Avoid the snooping hands and faces while youre out. Yes babies are cute but no you cant touch them IMPORTANT NOTE: and I cant stress this enough. Do not use a pram cover in summer. It gets VERY hot when you cover it up. I know it makes logical sense to keep the sunshine off your tiny human, but just like being in a space with no air circulation, its too hot! Ground cover for tummy time or toddler play: out at the park and the tiny human wants to roam free? Sit that tiny butt on their swaddle so they can play without the bugs. But most kids are super into bugs... Also, this does not work on toddlers. They do not sit still. Medium weight pram blanket: too cool for muslin but too hot for Minky? I got you. Cover those tiny legs in their swaddle! Not only will it take the chill off but it will make everyone jealous at how cool their name blanket is #wheredyougetthat Theres probably more uses, I know I still use Julians swaddles as trolley covers (ESPECIALLY now!). Have you passed the swaddling stage and still use your wraps?

21.01.2022 Please read the last sentence again. Then once more. Then read this because I have something to say, and it involves you Its no secret that this mama gig is hard. Like, REALLY hard. Its so easy to get caught up in the highlights of peoples lives, I think we forget thats all they are. At least I know I do! Sometimes, especially on those rough days, we all need a bit of reminding. So if youve read this far, I want you to do something with me. Lets take a ...minute to send some love and encouragement to the mama or mamas in our lives. Tag them, and remind them how goddamn INCREDIBLE they are. Make their day, heck, you might even make their week. Ill start. My mama appreciation/reminder youre a superwomen goes to @caseyyyamberrr Shes a mama to three (full on) beautiful girls and is studying at university. Lately (like most mamas with school aged kids) shes juggled all the girls, uni work and running a household. Which can we agree now that in itself is a full time job? She gives everything to her family and I bow down to her organisation and chaos control skills. Theyre next level. So for my mama minute (thats now a thing, I just made it up and its catchy so its staying), I wanted to remind her that shes killing it Who are you loving on for your mama minute? #mamaminute See more

21.01.2022 UPDATE I don't think I have to remind you what time it ishowever, if, like me, you temporarily forgot and went to the shops, only to be greeted by the masses in their panic buying state, It's ALMOST CHRISTMAS! I have decided to close my website until the new year. My printers are an Australian family business who close for the holidays very soon, and I have lots to update and a new offering to add to the site, all of which I cannot do while it's live. Also, my todd...ler inturrupts me approximately every 60 seconds, so it's much easier to shut it all down for a sec. I'll be back from January 4th, ready to welcome in the new (and better) year! You’ll still see my posts and stories, but consider me in festive mode. We have an outdoor table and a cubbyhouse to makeover before big red shows up. I’m in full Christmas mode

20.01.2022 MASSIVE congratulations Claire Did this just make your Monday 250% better? Im betting it did. Ill be sliding into your DMs to discuss getting your AMAZING prize to you #winning

20.01.2022 I know most of you follow along over on the gram, but this is too good not to be across all my socials. So have another copy #sorrynotsorry SOUND ON for maximum feels If theres an accurate way to show you what I hope to bring to you with my brand, its this. Its connection through motherhood. Its the love I infuse into my products while I myself create them, just for you and your tiny human. Its the warm wishes as I fold your keepsake into its box. The attention to ...every detail to bring a smile when you open it. Its all the warm and fuzzies. I have big plans for Forest & Fox, ones to make a difference. Ones to nurture you, the mamas who trust me with your secret name and to be apart of your announcement, to share that is a privilege. Forest & Fox will be so much more than just baby products. I know its early days and this lil emotional spill wont make much sense just yet, but it will. So thank you for being here and growing with me. Theres so much more to come Am I done being sappy AF? Yes, yes I am.

19.01.2022 Our website is LIVE And were all pretty excited about it This means two things: 1) I can stop spending everyday and night working on building a website ... 2) You can now shop, snoop, whatever tickles your fancy whenever it tickles it. Thanks for hanging around through this journey, I see you all Special shout out to the straight talking, no bullshit Amee @juicycreativeco . If it wasnt for her kick up the butt (and endless hype up voice messages) I wouldnt be here, announcing I built a website, let alone launching the business I spent so long talking myself out of! Im so excited to be apart of your familys story, and even more excited for what else Ive got planned for Forest & Fox #finally

19.01.2022 My WHY I feel like thats a pretty standard answer when you ask a mama in business why she started. But thats not 100% true for me. Yes, my son who I love wildly (and is the sole reason for my rapid ageing ) is my main why, but my other why is ME I feel like we humans stay in whats comfortable. That same old job you dont really like but hey, money aint flying in from the skies (imagine tho), so you stay. Year after year. I was that human. Im a creature of habi...t. Heck Ill drive further than I have to just because I know a particular shop layout (Im not alone in this one, right? Im not the only grown human who has a favourite Coles? ). Then I became a mama and EVERYTHING changed mentally. The way you look at the world changes, it becomes a bit scarier, because youre now somebodies protector. You cant watch news stories that involve kids or families, its too close to home. Most of all, you realise, more than you ever have before, that time is a thief. Youve heard it over and over but dammit its TRUE. The books were right, your mum wasnt exaggerating, the nights are definitely long, but those years fly by. Thats when I realised I had to choose. Go back to my comfort zone job and loose precious time with the human I built and who thinks Im a queen (Im kind of a big deal around here). Or fully commit to the life I use to day dream about in that office. The life I could feel in my core. I knew if I went back, Forest & Fox would never happen. Change is scary. But I chose this, for my family and for me. Sure, its way harder than I thought juggling the emotional roller coaster that is currently my toddler and sewing, (plus an insane amount of time trying to get my little biz seen!). But Im so glad I did. I also know I couldnt have made this choice without my husband working like he does, not everyone can choose. For that Im grateful, and even more determined to make this baby work, so one day shift work wont be a term used in our household, unless its in relation to child duties and no that doesnt mean theres another on the way, if everyone can chill on that question for a sec See more

19.01.2022 DID YOU KNOW? Every order will arrive to its new home in my signature keepsake box. Ready to gift (or just really make your day if it’s for your own tiny human). Why isn’t this an optional extra? Because I’m a packaging person. Huge fan. If there are two similar products but one is beautifully presented, you bet your butt I’m getting the one that is the full package. So being that person, the thought of sending out your keepsake in anything other than perfect pack...aging hurts my heart and I won’t do it What do my plush Minky blankets come in I hear you wondering? Not a box, because hello postage costs Nay nay (any Bailey Sarian fans in the crowd?). Your keepsake blanket will arrive in a super soft fabric gift bag, that also doubles as a wash bag, because I’m all about multi use #funfacts See more

18.01.2022 A part of a soul this couldnt be more accurate when it comes to describing handmade small businesses. Sure, all businesses have love poured into them (otherwise most businesses wouldnt exist, lets be honest, its not all fun and games). Theres something different, something special about handmade. Ive always been a sucker for anything made or gifted with love and thought, and if its personalised? Just take my money! Something that says more than I was in Coles and grabbed this gift voucher for you. Call me old fashioned. Thats a huge driving force behind WHY Forest and Fox was born. Im here to be your go to guy for the most special occasion of all, babies! Every piece is made with a whole lot of love, from one mum to other, just for your tiny human. Thats a kind of special you wont buy off the shelf

17.01.2022 FUN FACTS ABOUT ME Ive never had a speeding fine I get G and J mixed up constantly. Which is fun because my sons called Julian and my dogs called Genie. Am I my own worst enemy? Absolutely. I know every word to every Nickelback song #dontjudgeme... Im incapable of correctly pairing socks. Ben thought he was being smart by buying white socks, but they have tiny L and R markers on them. If I didnt pair coloured socks Im sure as shit not searching for tiny letters on white socks. Sorry boo I would use fake sick notes from my dad so I didnt have to do sport in school Id never use mum because dads writing and signature was easier to copy I did this for 3 years, until sport become optional Breakfast food and coffee are my weakness. Ill go anywhere if you feed me A friend has used cupcakes to lure me to the gym before Did you read a fun fact you werent expecting about me? Whats one thing I wouldnt know about you? P.S, heres your first look at the newest addition to the Forest & Fox fam, youre going to love her

17.01.2022 Just dropping by with some sunflower sunshine for your Wednesday evening Did you know all my prints are hand painted by a Perth artist? Yep. You wont find my prints ANYWHERE else on earth, cool, right? Will you find them on other planets? Maybe. Who really knows whats out there Did that take a weird turn? Yeah it did. Thats about my brain capacity right now though. So, just go with it

16.01.2022 Mama, if all you did today was comfort your baby, I need you to know thats more than enough. Its so hard to remember to be kind to yourself. To not let that guilt of not doing ALL THE THINGS get the better of you. Not just in that foggy what day is it fourth trimester but through all stages of motherhood. Julians 15 months and Im still learning to be kinder to myself on the rough days. The days where all he wants is me. Where all he wants is to cuddle with his mama and... watch back to back Wiggles (). Its hard to look past the mess of the house, to accept that dinner will most likely be via Mr. Uber, and that the pile of washing will (annoyingly) still be there tomorrow (unless we become nudists ). Today they just need you, and thats enough. Thats everything. If I could go back to my fourth trimester self I would tell her to be okay with the slow pace, thats its okay to not be productive around the house. Honestly, fuck the house. Cuddle that tiny human YOUR BODY BUILT without feeling guilty, because tomorrow theyll be back to doing their own thing, too busy for your hugs okay maybe not tomorrow for a newborn, but definitely for a toddler. Motherhood is wild What would you tell your postpartum self? @growupbrite

16.01.2022 Did you know all my prints are originals, hand painted by a Perth based artist and exclusive to Forest & Fox? You wont find these prints anywhere else but right here with me Im excited about the next collection coming very soon, and based on the feedback from the secret circle, so are you FUN FACTS: when I was typing up this caption I realised I wasnt sure if bees were male or female (obviously I know about the queen - duh. But what about the others? So I as...ked old mate google and heres what I found out: Worker bees are all female Male bees are called drones and dont have stingers A queen will lay 1,500 eggs PER DAY But the most interesting fact was this: The males only job is to spread the genes of their colony. They leave the colony every day in search of potential new queens looking to mate. So basically, a male bee flys around all day searching for queens to have sex with (which sounds brutal and ends in their death, if youre wondering), while back at home the women are doing LITERALLY EVERYTHING Am I the only adult who didnt know these facts about bees? #whoruntheworld See more

15.01.2022 This. All of this The mama powerhouse January Harshe behind these words is the author of Birth Without Fear and also has the insta account @birthwithoutfear . Why am I telling you this? Because, for me, this account had so much to do with my pregnancy and creating the "birth bubble" I needed. I went through and censored my instagram, anything negative or any kind of fear/trigger accounts/posts I said no thanks to Then I found January. Shes a mama to 6, yes, 6! A...nd a massive advocate for new mamas, from birth to postpartum mental health. All women. All births. Support, encouragement, education We might not have any control over the actual birth, babies tend to not get the memos in our "dream birth plans"(rude), but what we can control is how we prepare, and what we allow into our thinking in the months leading up to it. If youre pregnant, in any stage, I highly recommend following the Birth without fear account. Its confronting, sure, but its birth, and its beautiful. Every single story, every glimpse into the details you might be fearful of. Its real and uncensored (she gets in trouble with insta, like a lot). I found my feed, after a bit of deliberate deleting and searching out positive vibes, became all about how strong women are, and that was a really powerful mindset to hold. Did you do a virtual cleanse before birth? Do you have an account youre loving in your pregnancy journey? See more

12.01.2022 That’s a pretty big number, 1 in 10. I’m all for looking after the mama, but I also deeply believe that there isn’t enough (openly talked about) help out there for dads. Babies and mamas aren’t the only ones born, dad is too. Sure, he didn’t expel a HUMAN from his body, but he’s changed too. The newborn fog hits him too, the only difference is there might not be anyone checking in on him. They haven’t birthed, so why check in? Here’s why:... They just witnessed their partner give birth, was it a calm birth? Or did it go into an emergency situation where he was terrified of loosing them both? The birthing mama very often has no idea of the worry on the doctors faces, or the team prepped, standing at the door waiting to take her to theatre. The sentences exchanged between midwives, the mood in the room change. I don’t remember this happening in my birth, but my husband does. He saw and heard everything, I didn’t. And until we had a conversation about it, I didn’t realise that birth for a partner can be terrifying. They’re now the sole income earner (at least for a while), and that adds pressure to them to keep the house financially afloat. They loose sleep too. Only they have to get up and go to work. For my husband this was a 14 hour day on very little sleep. Often the job is labour intensive. My husband works with heavy machinery, and on little to no sleep, working such long days, 14 days in a row, this becomes dangerous. One mistake and we could loose him. Fatigue is deadly. They loose friends. Maybe not immediately, but it happens. They don’t have support groups, play groups, facebook groups. They might have mates who aren’t at that stage yet, so understandably can’t relate. Who’s checking in on them? Like actually making sure they’re coping, the way mamas are asked? Sure, this doesn’t apply to everyone. Sadly not every dad is there, but for those that are, they need help navigating their new normal too. So check in. How are you, really?. You’re going through this shit show together. https://www.howisdadgoing.org.au/ is a fantastic website for both new dads and their loved ones. #pandaweek2020

12.01.2022 SPECIAL EDITION PRINT Welcoming a very special print to the Forest & Fox range, one I've spent the better part of 12 months perfecting, and for a very special reason. I have designed this print specifically with NICU babies in mind. The tiniest of warriors But why an elephant? I'm glad you asked. I didn’t feel a rainbow was appropriate, because that represents life after loss, that’s not exactly what this print is about. So I went searching for something else, somethin...g more fitting. That’s when I found the elephant. In almost every belief, the elephant represents just a few of the below: Courage Good luck Protection Love Loyalty Strength An elephant with a raised trunk is said to symbolize good fortune. The tree sapling in its trunk represents new life and growth. It starts out from the smallest of seeds but grows tall and strong. I can’t think of a better representation. The strength of these tiny warriors and their families is amazing. From the tiniest 24 weekers to the 30 weekers. They fight. Their parents fight. It’s a situation I’m lucky not to have personally been in, but I’ve watched other mamas go through it. I’ve witnessed just how incredible those tiny bodies work to grow and be strong enough to go home. The purple butterfly? This is an optional addition, but I wanted to show you the print in full. In the NICU wards when a purple butterfly is placed on a crib it means that baby is the surviving twin, their sibling has unfortunately passed away. The purple butterfly project was started in the UK by a mama who sadly lost one of her twins and wanted a way to honour them, while letting others know to be sensitive to their grief. She chose a butterfly as a symbol of children who have flown away from this earth, and purple for both boys and girls. I’m crying, are you? I wanted to have an option to acknowledge that loss, to include their twin in the print. So there it is. Part ONE of a very special print that I’ve poured so much into. I’ll reveal part TWO tomorrow, when this print will also be available to purchase in both blankets and swaddles.

11.01.2022 Nominate a tiny warrior Part two is HERE! So what it is? When I was planning out Forest & Fox I always wanted there to be a donation component. I didn’t just want to bring you cute personalised keepsakes, I wanted to put a smile on the faces of mamas going through a tough journey, to celebrate the tiniest of fighters. That’s when Nominate a tiny warrior was born. ... Every two months you’ll see this logo, and that will be the chance for you to nominate a baby in the NICU to be gifted my special edition tiny warrior swaddle. Not sure what I’m talking about? You’ll find the run down plus the print on my previous post. But wait, there’s MORE. My tiny warrior print, in honour of those precious NICU babies, is now available in both my swaddles and plush minky blankets. For every one of this special print purchased, $5 will be donated to my chosen WA NICU charity, Tiny Sparks. They provide care packages to NICU families, run coffee catch ups for in person parent support and have a website full of resources. I have big plans for Forest & Fox and this is a major part of it that I cannot wait to watch grow! Last but certainly not least, I have to say a massive THANK YOU to the fantastic Jasmine Forecast for helping me bring my vision of this logo to life. I knew exactly who I wanted to help me with this, somebody who would understand the meaning and emotion behind it. And I mean, she nailed it. Down to the love heart on the tube tape, which yes, gets me every time So mamas, do you know a tiny warrior, currently in the NICU? Or are you that mama? COMMENT BELOW! If you want to keep it anonymous, I’ll meet you in my DM’s To keep it fair, the winner of the gifted swaddle will be chosen at random

10.01.2022 Scenario: youve just dropped the tiny human(s) off, you get in the car, whats the FIRST song you play? And do you play it at an irresponsible noise level or is that just me? Ill start: my go to at the moment is Roses by saint jhn, played so loud I feel it in my bones. Mainly to cleanse my ear drums of the goddamn Wiggles. Then straight onto the guilty pleasures playlist on Spotify Side note: the lyrics for Roses- NOT what I would have guessed, like at all. Still catchy tho Your turn, promise I wont judge you

09.01.2022 I hope your weekend was full of sunshine and cute hats @lifewithleearna

09.01.2022 OLIVE Am I sorry for any exploding ovaries this image causes? Nope. Not one bit. I dont normally post on a Saturday, not because Im busy enjoying a weekend (what are those again?), but because you guys are. Okay, that may have been slightly dramatic. It is currently the husbands week off, but hes fixing his car which means Im spending my time confiscating tools that Julian has stolen to play with ... Anyway, my point is, I couldnt wait, I had to share this dreamy little lady in my sunflower swaddle set Thank you for sharing her @raising.my.daughters See more

09.01.2022 PLUSH MINKY BLANKETS Introducing my second new print, a furry favourite, KOALA! Lets get to know her: ... I cant stress enough how SOFT this blanket is. I genuinely cant. 07.01.2022 Love notes Happy Friday mamas, what do you have planned for the weekend? I decided to rearrange the front lounge, but now Ive lost motivation to finish it and Im regretting the choice So I guess Ill just enjoy my coffee while Julian naps and pretend I cant see the mess instead #arecleaningfairiesreal

07.01.2022 All. Damn. Day. Julians newly in the please feed me snacks phase and I was definitely not prepared for just how much he eats. Although I shouldnt be surprised, his mums a huge fan of snacks. I see the most of me in him when he gets his hangry tantrum on. You know the one. Head tilts back and then they drop to the floor like the worlds ending. Only to be given a snack and suddenly be totally fine, like their inner demon didnt just pop out to say hi because you denied their hundredth snack request? Ive also entered the hide from my child so I dont have to share my snacks phase Id ask if you have a spot to hide from your kid(s), but I know you do. Where is it? I wont tell them

06.01.2022 Hey favourite Is it possible to see a sunflower and not smile? I was so excited to see this print finished and Im even MORE excited to see it on fabric What do you think of her?

05.01.2022 SWADDLES AND SLEEPING When should you stop swaddling baby while sleeping? The most talked about response to this question is as soon as baby starts to show signs of rolling over. Not after theyve started rolling over, but as soon as they start to rock, indicating that milestone of being able to roll is upon you! I personally dont believe it can be put down to one age fits all.. typically they say about 4 months, but every baby is different! ... Once they begin to roll they need their arms free to push themselves back, and move around freely so they can breathe. If their arms are restricted they cannot do this. Safe sleep is so important. If you are ever unsure, the red nose website have fantastic and informative tips and advice for safe baby and toddler sleep. Theres a link directly to all their info in my bio @raising.my.daughters See more

05.01.2022 Beyond the swaddle What else can you use your swaddle for, once your tiny human doesnt need it for comfort? Great question. A lightweight pram and/or car blanket... SAFETY NOTE: If youre going to use it in the car, make sure its tucked in nice and snug so they cant pull it over their face while youre driving. Tummy time ground cover, did I mention babies LOVE looking at patterns and colours? Its a win win Feeding cover Sit and play ground cover I would ALWAYS carry a swaddle in my bag so I could use it for all the above. It saves space in your bag because youre not carrying around extra blankets or mats, and they fold (or lets be real, scrunch up) nice and small! I didnt just create my swaddles to look pretty. I created them to be practical too, which is why they are sized at a generous 90cmx1.2cm See more

04.01.2022 BOY MUM I never actually imagined myself having a son, until we found out I was having a boy (and if Im honest, a few weeks after) I was CONVINCED I was carrying a girl. So much for a mothers intuition but now Im a boy mum, I cant see myself with a girl. Is that weird? If you havent had a boy and are expecting one (firstly, congratulations) my pro tip for nappy changes: keep a tub of wash cloths nearby. Why? Because the moment that nappy comes off and their fa...vourite toy is free, your darling son will, almost every single time, pee So having wash clothes handy means you can put the cloth over the pee canon while you get the fresh nappy etc. OR you can be like me and keep them handy but always forget to cover it BEFORE he pees PEE STORY: when my son was a baby I was changing him, so of course forgot to cover it up #useless. He peed () and without thinking I aimed the tiny cannon away from me and directly into his face (oops). He was both shocked and confused. I laughed so hard I cried. Then took a photo, duh. Are you a boy mum? Whats your funniest change table accident? Or do they pee on us on purpose? I think they do @meet.the.mackenzies See more

04.01.2022 Happy new year everybody #2020feels

03.01.2022 I know its been a long *insert whatever month were in now*, but youre not seeing double. What you ARE seeing is the newest addition to my little gentlemen collection. Itd be unfair for the ladies to have all the balloon prints, so heres one for team blue All my prints come with two font options, bold and cursive. I could have come up with creative names, or even used their actual font names, but its been a day/month/year so here we are. Meet bold and cursive. ... Ive been working like a crazy woman (after the hours of "please go to sleep child") to get my website ready for tomorrow nights launch My mailing list friends have already had their first snoop around and order, but for everyone else, you get your chance from 7pm AWST TOMORROW NIGHT! See you then See more

03.01.2022 Hes ready for his close up now I adore this print and it wasnt even supposed to exist We had finished up the first release when my artist asked if I was keen for her to try a galaxy effect. I was skeptical about how it would print (you loose a bit of the finer details once its on fabric), but to my excitement it arrived and it was perfect The only thing missing? A NAME! ... What do you think he should be called? Should I make it fun? OKAY! The mama who comes up with the name I choose will get a surprise gift See more

03.01.2022 @simplylivingmama Ive spent the better part of the last 24 hours reading, listening and scrolling. Right now, as a white person of privilege, I dont have the words. I dont understand. I cannot possibly BEGIN to know what youve been through, what youre still going through. I wont pretend to. Ill acknowledge that due to the colour of my skin, I wont ever experience situations through your eyes, the deeply rooted hatred you have thrown your way daily. But I stand with... you. Im here to listen, to TRY and understand all those who have been and continue to be persecuted purely for their skin colour. Youre not okay. This is not okay. My chest is so heavy watching whats happening in America. But I truly believe change begins at home. For me, thats Australia. Im not my ancestors, but I acknowledge I can do better than I have. I can learn more. I can contribute more. I can make sure I raise my son to be accepting of all humans, and to understand the history of his birth place. @commongroundaustralia have a wonderful website for videos and articles on First Nation people and how we can contribute If youre looking (like me), for ways to try and comprehend whats happening in America with the black lives matter movement, and how you can use your social space to help, I highly encourage you to check out @themompsychologist @spendwiththem have also announced they will be using their platform to feature indigenous small businesses to support See more

03.01.2022 How did you pick your childs name? Google, books, tv show, family names? According to the internet (so obviously this is true), Charlotte has been the most commonly picked girls name since 2015 , yet the only Charlotte I know is a dog ... Ben and I have two different versions of how our sons name came to be, (my version is clearly the correct one, but he disagrees). So tell me ladies, where did your tiny humans name come from? Bonus points if you have a Charlotte See more

02.01.2022 Seriously though, tell me ladies, how do you keep them from escaping? FUN STORY: I went through an entire pack within a week. I genuinely didnt know what was happening. I was down to my last three, guarding them with my life and searching for their mates, when Ben asked what I was looking for. Turns out, he had been cleaning up after me and putting them all back in their container, where they belong, the entire time. Not once did I look there, because who puts things back where they belong anyway? #notme

01.01.2022 Theres been so many new faces join me recently so I thought I would interrupt your Monday evening with some FUN FACTS ABOUT ME Im a huge animal lover. Ill almost always choose animals over humans. Ive dived with an 8m whale shark and it was hands down the best moment of my life. Driving to new places gives me anxiety. I have to google street view before I get in the car because Im a visual driver, I go off landmarks not street signs. NEVER ask me to direct you... somewhere, it always ends badly. FUN STORY: once we were travelling up north and friends were following us, I was directing my husband. I told him to turn left, but he was supposed to turn right. I realised about 30 minutes in that the blue dot was way, waaaayyy off but I refused to admit I was wrong. Eventually I fessed up and about an hour after we made that turn my husband had to tell the others we had been going in the wrong direction for a pretty long time. Oops. In my defense, if youve ever driven the roads up in the north of Western Australia, everything looks the same. So, whos fault is it really? I got my first car stuck between another car and a concrete pillar. Probably the most embarrassing moment of my life (and my husbands, who was hiding in the passenger seat, hoping hed be beamed out of there to avoid the eyes watching us). I have an irrational fear of crabs at the beach. I cant stand in the water because theyll bite my toes. Balloons terrify me. Whats one thing youre afraid of? Bonus points if its something irrational like crabs at the beach tell me Im not alone See more

01.01.2022 Do you have a night owl? A tiny human who thinks night fall is party time? I know I do, or did. Julian is 18 months (I think) and I can count the amount of times hes slept through the night on both hands So you could say coffee and I have a pretty intimate relationship He was 6 months old when we decided to FINALLY ask for help. Im not sure why, as mamas, we feel like we need to live on struggle street, purely because we have a newborn and thats just how it is.... Spoiler alert: its not. Sleep is a NEED not a WANT. Its not a luxury. So if youre reading this, feeling like you havent slept for years, Ive been you. I AM you! Please ask for help. It can be in the form of a sleep consultant like we did, or following accounts who dish out daily helpful tips and tricks. You absolutely do not have to do it alone. I wish I realised this sooner. Heres two fantastic Perth based accounts I love for all things baby sleep and mama support: Donna @bub2sleep Hayley & Katie @slumberandsprout We personally had Donna help us with Julian and while he didnt sleep through, he slept 4-5 hour stretches which was a huge change from 1-1.5! Did you, or do you have a night owl? What would you tell a mama on struggle street? @_meagan.louise_ See more
