10.01.2022 Opening: Saturday 2nd February: 10am - 1pm ‘Spirit of the Wild Thing An exhibition by Cheryle Bannon... February 1st - 28th Thursday Sunday: 10am - 4pm ‘Spirit of the Wild Things’ is a series of mixed media paintings by Cheryle Bannon exploring images of animals through contemporary mixed media paintings. These intuitive paintings mindfully explore the wisdom of the animal kingdom as guides and messengers. Animals have an amazing sense of purpose. Their ways of being are in harmony with the natural world and offer so much wisdom and guidance. Wild thing refers to that untamed spirit of animals that is in harmony with their own environment. The spirit of the wild thing is not controlled by an outside force but guided and connected to an innate inner wisdom. These animals are viewed as guides that have so much to share with us when we choose to pause and notice their world. These intuitive art works embrace Cheryle’s sense of art as mindful spaces of visual storytelling and connection. Cheryle invites you to step into your own story and connect to the animal wisdom of that wild nature that calls to you. Notice what animals catch your attention and consider their ways of being in the world and the wisdom they have to share with you.

08.01.2022 May’s Exhibition is Metamorphosis by Wendy Bennett. Exhibition Opening: Saturday 4 May 2019 11am to 2pm. A word from Paul Forestedge Stone Gallery This month’s exhibition is one that will challenge some. It is a reminder to me that Art is many things- it can take us on a silky, smooth journey through a field overflowing with flowers, or a challenging voyage of discovery and enlightenment. This is the power of Art... Wendy’s artist’s statement is to create works of beauty which invite a reverence and honouring of the feminine, the sacred portal through which we all are metamorphosed into life. The exhibition contains images, themes and materials which invite the viewer to question their responses, a potential for a metamorphosis towards the cultural beliefs, attitudes and taboos around menstruation and womens’ bodies. When a woman reclaims and honours her body as sacred, she can emerge from the restrictions of the past with her wings of freedom spread to rise above and follow her own truth. The journey of metamorphosis, exploring the concept of change from within and culminating in the freedom and authenticity of the butterfly, is a metaphor for Wendy’s own personal journey. A collective metamorphosis of honouring the feminine offers the possibility for much healing and growth for all. . It may be uncomfortable for some people. Please use your discernment about viewing this exhibition.
