17.01.2022 JUST IN: I know how much Queenslanders love their camping From today, Queenslanders can book and enjoy a camping getaway in the state’s national parks, forest...s and recreation areas, following the Chief Health Officer’s approval of the necessary COVID-19 plan. While other facilities like picnic tables and barbecues will be accessible, public shower facilities will remain closed and camping numbers will be reduced in some locations to maintain social distancing and keep Queenslanders safe. Bookings are essential to ensure visitors have the appropriate permits, visit www.qld.gov.au/camping. For park alerts, visit https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/park-alerts/. For camping at our state-owned dams, lakes and weirs such as far north Queensland’s Tinaroo Dam or Lake Moogerah in the South East, campers should call ahead and check to see if and when these camping grounds are open, if they have availability, as some, for instance are still completing works started during the shutdown. For a full list of available recreation activities visit: www.seqwater.com.au or download the Seqwater App www.sunwater.com.au/community/recreation-and-safety-alerts/ www.dnrme.qld.gov.au//news-publi/covid-19-industry-updates #camping #covid19

From noon tomorrow, you can camp anywhere in Queensland for as long as you like, with campgrounds an...d caravan parks re-opening for everyone. Whether you prefer to get back to nature in the great outdoors, or ‘glamping’ is more your style, Queensland has so many amazing places to visit.
