25.01.2022 We are all with you Class of 2020!
24.01.2022 Today is International School Library Day 2020! Today is a day to celebrate our school library and to recognize the value the school library plays in the school community. Not every school has a school library, and not every school library has the support of school leadership that our school library does.... Have you heard about the "Students Need School Libraries" campaign? Their mission is to ensure student access to high quality school library services. Their vision is that every student has access to a dynamic, well-resourced school library run by qualified library staff. Tonight, the campaign co-ordinator of Students Need School Libraries, Holly Godfree is running a free zoom session where she will outline why your child needs a strong school library to succeed in school and in life in our modern world and also discuss the state of school libraries across Australia. What she says may surprise you! For more information on this session, read the blog post of the Library Blog - "Why your child needs a strong school library to succeed in life & in school". Visit the FHC Library Blog at [email protected], follow on Snapchat or on Instagram @fhclibrary

09.01.2022 Forest Hill College Library staff love to read. Here Ms Farch is catching up on some reading at home. As well as reading, Ms Farch loves to talk about reading and books (but not posting of photos of herself on social media so much ) What does Ms Farch like to read? Let's ask some questions.... ... WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ? The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK GROWING UP? I loved The Belgariad series by David Eddings and The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy Series by Douglas Adams (both of these series are available in the library ) WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT READING? Reading helps me relax and I love being taken into different worlds and different lives. HOW DO YOU FIND TIME IN YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE TO READ? I absolutely read every day. I have to read when I go to bed or I just can't go to sleep. I am lucky that keeping up with the latest books is part of my job, so I don't feel guilty reading as much as I can. @australiaisreading #fhcreads

03.01.2022 Today is kick off day for FHC Reads. In Home Group today we will be sharing an interview with @foresthillcollege Principal, Mr Rogers, about what he likes to read. The love of reading and the acknowledgement of the value of reading in a school environment comes from the top at Forest Hill College, with our Principal Team showing true leadership when it comes to the support of the school library. ... During his interview, Mr Rogers said his favourite books to read growing up were the Biggles books. He loved books full of adventure. Luckily we had a Biggles book available in the school library for Mr Rogers to take a minute to read. @australiaisreading #fhcreads
