22.01.2022 Friday night saw close to 60 girls and their families turn out at Melwood Oval for Forest Girls Try Rugby 2020. The weather was awesome, the BBQ was firing and the music pumping. Claudia Bell from NSW Rugby put together an amazing program that saw the girls learning new skills, having a great time and making new friends. Special thanks to Waratahs Super W players Taz Sheppard and Mikaela Trbojevich for coaching and being so awesome with girls throughout the evening. The event... was made possible thanks to volunteers of Forest Junior Rugby Club including Junior Committee members, Girls 7s coaches and senior Girls 7s players and parents - too many to mention individually. And final thanks must go to the amazing girls and their families who came along, brought so much energy and had so much fun. We cannot wait to see you in the Green and White for Forest Rugby Club in 2021! #GirlsRugby #ForestRugby #nswrugby

02.01.2022 2020 saw our Club forge a wonderful, new relationship with Biala Hostel, an indigenous boarding house for secondary high school girls, located in Allambie Heights. We welcomed five girls to our U14 and U16 teams. From Biala Hostel: "We contacted Forest Rugby club and were welcomed with open arms. The girls have enjoyed playing immensely this year and are excited to join the club in 2021! The girls find Rugby to be a fantastic outlet. It has helped them branch out in the commu...nity and build their independence. They have made some valuable friendships with other members of the team." During recent National NAIDOC week celebrations our U14s coach, Grant Street, was presented with an appreciation award from the Biala girls. We look forward to continuing and building our relationship with the girls and staff at Biala Hostel in 2021.
