25.01.2022 Men's First Grade LIVE Both our Men’s AL/1 First Grade and Reserve Grade won the league over the weekend for the first time since 2005. It is an extremely rare feat for a squad to win both leagues in First and Reserve Grade, with most clubs only doing one or the other. This weekend, our FKFC boys have the chance at going one step further with a 'Double Double', winning both leagues and both grand finals. This was last done in 2005 by our very own FKFC Men's AL/1 team. Reserve...s kick off at 1pm vs local rivals Wakehurst FC, and First Grade at 4pm against eternal rivals and former teamates, Beacon Hill, at our home ground of Melwood Oval, Forestville. The game will be streamed LIVE here on Facebook so keep an eye out!

24.01.2022 U16 Age Group Spotlight The 2020 Forest U16s is one of the larger age groups in our club boasting 72 players spread over 3 mixed and 2 girls squads. Possibly the feature team of the mixed age group are Miguel Irribarren's Div 1 team, who currently sit in second position, three points behind leaders CC Strikers, a team they played last Saturday.... The game ended in a 2-2 draw, fighting back from 2 early goals, the 16s managed to claw their way back into the game and scored early in the second half, a few minutes later CC burst upfield and won a penalty, goal keeper Toby Priestman saved the spot kick , and promptly launched a kick deep into CCs half which we scored from to draw level, a performance reminiscent of last years semi final where the team fought back from 2 nil down to win 3 2 and advance to the Grand Final. Our 16/2s are in a tight race for 4th spot, which they currently hold onto with Mosman and Narrabeen, close behind. The 16/3s began the year in Div 2 having previously been prominent in Div 3 in 2019 and are adjusting to the step up in competition. Good luck in your last 3 games players, managers and coaches. Our 2 girls teams are playing with lots of spirit. Our newly promoted Div 1 side are finding their feet in this competitive league and will be stronger next year for the experience, having witnessed a thrilling 1-1 draw two Sundays ago, against leading team Curl Curl, which featured a fantastic goalkeeping display including a penalty save by borrowed U15s goalkeeper Ella Stanbury. The quiet achievers of this age group are our Div 3 team , who are currently top of the league with 21 points, their last 2 fixtures include a home game at Melwood and a trip to Avalon to finish the season on the 1st of October. Good luck girls! #BleedGreen

22.01.2022 U12/1 MATCH REVIEW FKFC 3 v CC Strikers 2 With the season drawing closer to finals time Saturdays clash with CC Strikers had enormous importance for both teams and their chances of figuring on Grand Final day... Collaroy were 1 point ahead of Forest on the ladder after winning their first round clash and the boys were pumped to turn the tables. Playing on the field of dreams at Collaroy Plateau FKFC got off to a slow start and couldn’t gain any ascendency. After 15 minutes the boys were 2 nil down and looking a little concerned. One thing about this team is they never ever give up. A forest free kick was excellently floated in by Marko and Ryan beat the keeper to the ball with a sweet header into the back of the net. Forest were back in the hunt. The game seemed to be following Ryan. 30 seconds before halftime he was taken from behind in the box. Penalty Forest!!! Toby stepped up to the spot and the keeper went the wrong way as Toby blasted the penalty into the top of the net. Half Time 2-2 and Forest had the momentum A fast paced second half ensued with Forest awarded a free kick out wide on the edge of the box. Our Captain Marko calming set himself for the potential match winner. Collaroy set a 3 man wall. Marko moved in, curled the ball over the wall and top bins -goaaaallllll!!!! Forest 3-2 with ten minutes to go. A nerve racking final 10 minutes for players and parents saw a dramatic finish. Collaroy were awarded a free kick right in front with less than a minute to go. You could cut the sea air with a knife. Collaroy stepped up and blazed the shot over the bar. Forest hang on and win a thriller 3-2 and keep the finals dream alive. Well done to the entire team. Everyone played their part. Special mention to Toby in scoring his first goal of the year. The 12/1s are proudly sponsored by Lucky & Pep's Forestville , Jay Alcock First National Forest and CACE Partners. Match report by Lenny the Leprechaun

18.01.2022 12/1 GRAND FINAL REVIEW Grand Final day for the under 12/1s at the home of football Melwood Oval. After securing the league title earlier in the week the boys were pumped to win the Grand Final and take out the double. ... An early goal to Curl Curl saw the boys trailing. But resilience has been built into this team. Soon after they equalised. Half time 1-1 Forest were awarded a penalty with 10 to go and unfortunately could not convert. Full time 1-1 and off to penalties- nerve racking for such young men. Curl Curl hit the crossbar on their second attempt. Well done to the Forest boys Toby, Sammy, Beau, Felix all calmly stepped up and slotted their spot kicks. To win the Grand Final our Captain Marko Oreb had it on his laces. Watch the video attached as he calmly seals the Grand Final victory for the boys. What a season wow Forest win 12/1 GF on penalties 5-4

11.01.2022 The weekend saw our Men's AL/1 First and Reserve Grade teams heading in to a round of fixtures vs. St Augustines, with wins securing 1st-placed finishes and grand final spots for both our teams. Our Reserves set the tone with a 3-0 win after being tied 0-0 at half-time. Our Firsts followed up with a 2-0 win, with a goal in the first 8 seconds, leading to our Men's AL/1 squad securing the Double! Our squad heads into this weekend's Grand Final hoping to win both games to secu...re the 'Double Double' which has not been done since 2005 by a FKFC Men's AL/1 team. Usually an AL/1 league win would result in promotion for our squad into the MWFA Premier League but due to COVID-19, Promotion and Relegation was cancelled and us at FKFC understand MWFA's decision. We will fight for another year and force our way into the top division with the help of our wonderful supporters and coaching staff consisting of Michael Vescio, Joe Santarosa, and Paul O'Shaughnessy. 11.01.2022 In 2022, Forest Killarney Football Club will be celebrating its 60th Year Anniversary! As part of the celebrations, we have decided to listen to our community and their opinions from our survey earlier this year about the club going forward. As well as relaunching our club’s Social Media, which you would have seen if you follow our Facebook and/or Instagram, there was a big outcry for a modernised logo for the club, amongst other things.... As a football club that places so much emphasis on community and family, we have decided to leave it up to YOU! We are requesting that people submit ideas, whether they be rough drawings or other club’s logos, for our FKFC committee to vote on. There will be 10 logos chosen out of all the submissions which will again be put forward to you, the FKFC community, to vote on their favourite concept/idea. We are also looking at designing a new Away strip. We ask that you try have a crack at this too, preferably focusing on using the club Black and Green, and if you are feeling audacious, try squeezing in Royal Blue for an old Killarney Soccer Club throwback! Please send all submissions to [email protected], as well as any ideas you may have for the 60th Year Anniversary such as how we could celebrate it, or what we could get made for our members, e.g. scarves, polos, retro kits, etc. For some Jersey, Logo, and Retro inspiration, check out the drop box link here --> https://www.dropbox.com//cjpeiz/AADbmE-J1aKPBWgWJvuMbNcxa #GoForest #BleedGreen #60thYear #TheBig60 #NewLogo https://www.fkfc.com.au/60th-year-anniversary/

05.01.2022 In one of our more dissapointing updates, we would to thank Mike Pawley Sports for their role in our community after being stationed at the local Forestville Shops for many years. Sadly Mike and the team are having to vacate the Forestville store thanks to unrealistic landlord demands. Let us band together and make time to get into the store for some amazing closing down bargains, or head to their NEW online store at https://www.mikepawleysports.com.au. Thanks to Mike and all his great team at Mike Pawley Sports for the continued support over the years.

05.01.2022 Since the ‘Double Double’ in 2005 in which both the Forest Killarney Mens Division 1 Firsts and Reserves won their respective leagues and grand finals, the squad has seen diminishing results, with relegation from the MWFA Premier League and years of mediocrity in the AL1 division being all the team has known. Over the past couple of years the team has been building the foundations for its resurgence and this year, a year of uncertainty due to COVID-19, the team has done just ...that. Both our Men’s AL1 First Grade and Reserve Grade sit atop their ladders with just one game remaining. A win for both teams secures the titles and spots in next week’s Grand Final, a loss results in 2nd or even 3rd-placed finishes. It all comes down to the last round against St Augustines. Reserves kick off at 1pm, and First Grade at 3pm at Passmore Reserve, Manly Vale. Get down and show your support for a team that consists of over half FKFC juniors, as well as a squad that a majority of the players are Under 23. You can expect there to be fireworks with Captain Alex Bain leading FKFC’s strongest side since their 2005 successes under Glen Wood, with current coach Michael Vescio, with the help of Joe Santarosa and Paul O’Shaughnessy, looking to leave his mark on the club. Go Boys, Play Hard and most importantly... BLEED GREEN

05.01.2022 12/1 Champions Day Review Champions Cup day at Turramurra Recreation Area saw the under 12/1 boys up against North Sydney United FC. Fresh off success in winning the league and their Grand Final there was one more victory to chase in 2020. North Sydney United FC were coming off an undefeated season and were stiff opposition for the boys from Forest. After some enthralling passages of play by both teams we were all locked up at halftime 0-0. ... The second half saw a beautiful cross from Sean which LJ volleyed into the net 1-0 Forest. North Sydney continued to threaten however every player lifted and with some key substitutions Forest prevailed and held on for a 1-0 victory. Congratulations to the entire squad. They have won all that was in front of them. To all coaches managers and parents thank you for a wonderful season. 02.01.2022 Sponsor Spotlight First National The Forest Jay Alcock December is here (we don’t know how either) and what better way to start off the Christmas celebrations with an FKFC Sponsor Spotlight, and a special one at that. Today’s sponsor is First National’s Jay Alcock.... Jay was an FKFC player when he was young, only to now have his kids playing in and bleeding the same green he once did, and he’s now the club’s current Sponsorship Manager. Jay has done some incredible work this year and has really helped the club when it needed it most after a damaging COVID year, he’s been the FKFC saviour. He also happens to be a pretty good Real Estate Agent, but you didn’t hear that from us. He’s got sales of properties spanning all across the Northern Beaches, with many results outperforming seller expectations. Jay’s approach is what sets him apart from the others. With constant updates and feedback on what is happening with your home and the market, you’ll be much more comfortable and relaxed knowing that every aspect of the sales process is being looked after for you. Contact Jay at [email protected] or 0402 036 364 to have a chat. Thanks to Jay and First National The Forest! #GoForest #BleedGreen #FKFCSponsorSpotlight
