25.01.2022 We would like to introduce our newest addition to the riding school, Snowflake. Snowflake is a Welsh pony mare and is 7 years old. We are sure Snowflake will give many children enjoyable rides. Thank you to Nicola and Ronja for parting with this beautiful girl.

24.01.2022 Covid-19 update The health of our customers and staff is our biggest priority at Forest Park. As a result we will continue to follow the advice from the Australian Government and health authorities in regard to our business. We will continue to make decisions as situations change. We will continue to operate our lessons at Forest Park at this stage. We ask all clients to follow directions of the government as we will also be doing, as well as basic health guidelines. We wi...ll also ensure our staff are keeping up to date with these guidelines, stay away if unwell and take extra precautions. If you are unwell/sick with risk of having Covid-19 (eg. Recent contact, travel etc.) please follow health authority advice. Please do not come for your lesson if this is your situation please follow hand hygiene advice. Wash your hands and avoid touching your face. Soap and water is available in the bathrooms - please use this before touching shared equipment. we will avoid shaking hands/close contact as much as possible - say hello with a wave instead if you are concerned and prefer not to ride we completely respect your choice we recommend that you use your own riding boots and helmets We are making a range of changes in our riding school in regards to lessons, cleaning, and more. We will update you with this asap. Any updates we will post as soon as we have them. 23.01.2022 Lesson and trail ride update. We are excited to announce that we plan to commence trail rides from this weekend, Saturday and Sunday May 23 and 24, and a modified timetable of group lessons commencing Monday 25th May. Little league will most likely not run during this term due to difficulty in maintaining social distancing with this group. We will be running these services, whilst following the Australian policies with regard to COVID-19. Our staff are following strict clea...ning and physical distancing procedures among our clients. We ask all returning clients to please supply your own helmets and boots for your lessons. We recommend Horseland Canberra located in Fyshwick. https://www.horseland.com.au/horseland-canberra-store-canbe We will post a further update in the next few days with further details about how our modified timetable will be running and we also hope to email all clients with these details. We have a hand hygiene station opposite the office for all clients to use. We ask that all clients please sanitise your hands before and after visiting with us. Please maintain 1.5 meters from others on the property. Do not come to the riding school if you are unwell. Our office is now taking bookings for the trail rides for this weekend. Please note that due to distancing regulations we will not be able to book any children on our rides that need to be led. 21.01.2022 Summer school holiday program. Our beginners groups are now fully booked for our January programs although we do have a couple of places left in our 2 day beginners program on January 2-3. There are still places for other levels in our programs.

20.01.2022 COVID-19 update. We are currently working with government authorities in order to establish what we can and can't do in this current situation with COVID-19. The situation is rapidly changing and we will keep you updated on this page of any changes we need to make. Our agistment will continue as previously, however people need to be mindful of the rules governing social distancing, keeping 1.5m apart and maximum of 2 people in a group etc. Our group lessons are now on hold.... We have been advised not to run any further group lessons until further notice. This will also effect our school holiday program and our trail rides which will not run until further notice. We are currently running private lessons daily, Monday- Sunday between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm. These will be half hour lessons, one rider. Private lessons can be booked by calling our office on 62874888 or emailing [email protected] We will be calculating the credits that each client has from fees paid and these can be used for private lessons or activities in the future when they start up again. deposits for school holiday program will be carried forward to the next holidays (or when we are able to run again). We apologise for the disappointment that this will undoubtedly bring to many. We may be running on reduced office hours. 19.01.2022 While group lessons and trail rides are on hold at Forest Park due to COVID-19 distancing restrictions we are carrying on with one-on-one private lessons. We have a reduced number of horses in work at present and the remainder of our lovely school horses are enjoying a well deserved break in the paddock. 16.01.2022 School holiday fun at Forest Park. Kristle's group participated in lots of fun activities this week. The group focused on safe and respectful riding. Fancy dress day is always a favorite. The group also learned about the different types of saddles and all had a sit in a stock saddle. The horses also enjoyed a game of apple bobbing and enjoyed some yummy treats. Glad to be able to share our beautiful horses with such a great group of kids.

14.01.2022 Beginner's two day program. Due to the smoke levels and for the safety of children and the horses, we have made the decision to postpone our children's two day beginners program. This will now be held on Sunday and Monday 26 - 27 January, 9am - 4pm. Can those who have booked for 2-3 January let us know if you would like to attend these new dates or not? 11.01.2022 Forest Park will be running a two day beginners school holiday program on Thursday and Friday 2nd - 3rd January, 9am - 4pm. The minimum age for this program is 7 years. The children will be taught about approach to and handling horses, grooming, saddling, basic care and riding skills. The cost for this 2 day program is $240.00. 10.01.2022 2019 Forest Park Gallery Competition We had some beautiful entries for the 2019 Gallery Competition at Forest Park! We are a little delayed in announcing the winners due to the events over the Christmas/New Year period with the fires and smoke, however we are pleased to finally announce the winners for 2019. The program runs 9.00am - 3.30pm. The morning session will be a flatwork lesson focusing on body strength the and mechanics of how your body position effects your ride. 03.01.2022 For the safety and health of our horses, staff and clients, we have decided to cancel all trail rides and lessons today 1 Jan and tomorrow 2 Jan due to the hazardous smoke. We will advise our clients tomorrow midday about our plans of operations for Friday and the weekend. Apologies for any inconvenience, however our first priority is the health of our beautiful animals, clients and staff. Please keep those affected by the fires in your thoughts. We have deepest respect and thanks for the firefighters working to help those affected by the fires.

02.01.2022 Children's beginner introduction to riding sessions will be held on October 7th public holiday. The sessions are two hours and include introduction to grooming, saddling, leading and riding. Children from age 7 upwards are welcome. Our sessions run 9.30 - 11.30 and 1.30 - 3.30. 01.01.2022 Forest Park has a new trail ride horse to add to the team. This is Jinx, a 14 yo part arabian. Jinx was previously ridden around a property. He has settled in nicely to the riding school and his routines.
