25.01.2022 Social Media Alert We are aware that there are occasions when social media can place the wellbeing of our young people at risk. When this occurs, it is important we follow the advice of the eSafety Commissioner. The Office of the eSafety Commissioner encourages parents and carers to co-view, co-play, and ask questions about the games, and apps their children are using; and let them know you are there to support them if they are upset or uncomfortable about anything they see... online. The Office of the eSafety Commissioners website has a section specifically for parents which you are encouraged to visit for further information. It does include advice on supporting teenagers should they encounter content that is upsetting, disturbing or offensive. https://www.esafety.gov.au/parents We also encourage people who encounter such content to report it to the social media platform theyve seen it on, or to eSafety at www.esafety.gov.au/report/illegal-harmful-content As parents/carers, if you become aware that your child/ren have viewed inappropriate or disturbing content and are concerned about their wellbeing, please contact the school for support.

04.01.2022 Year 8/9 Virtual Options Evening/Year 7 Parent Information Evening Due to the restrictions around Coronavirus our traditional Year 7/Options Evening will be hel...d differently this year. Our Year 7 Transition video was uploaded late last week for families to watch and discuss together. It has also been shared with primary schools. Transition visits for Year 6 students will be done in small groups over a few weeks with the first group attending tomorrow. If you would like to call to discuss Year 7 2021 or arrange a meeting with Year 7 staff please contact the school on 64529 222. At the end of this week Year 8 and 9 students will be bringing home a booklet which explains the option subjects available for 2021. The options offered in 2021 will depend on the number of students who choose the class, as well as staff availability/expertise. A video will also be shown to students during Pastoral Care next week and published online for families to hear from teachers and students about each subject. Forms will then be sent home for students to make their initial selections for 9/10 Option classes in 2021. If you have any questions after the video is released, please feel free to contact Andrea Wilson or Lindsey Blake on 64529 222.
