21.01.2022 The Clerk of Course has asked me to pass this on: Hi Ross, On behalf of Mike and myself, I wanted to thank you, the organising committee, and in particular all of the officials and volunteers involved, for an outstanding Forest Rally this last weekend.... As you know, winning this event was incredibly special to me. As a kid growing up in Manjimup, the first rally car I ever saw in the forest was the 1976 Rally of The West, the forerunner to today's Forest Rally. I fell in love with the sport then and promised myself I would win that event. 76 events as a Codriver later, and having competed around the world at every level of the sport from clubbie to WRC, not only did I fulfil that lifelong dream and ambition, but it was also my first ever outright event win. For both reasons, an incredible and emotional feeling. Rallying is a fantastic sport, filled with wonderful people and characters, which is what attracted me to, and has kept me in, the sport. The great majority of those people give willingly of their time to help the few of us who get to compete to do what we love. Having pretty much ‘done it all’ in rallying - from being a volunteer, to being a road closure, running a control, being an official, a service crew and a competitor, I am especially appreciative of and thankful to all those people who fill those roles to allow me to compete. Unbelievable roads, wonderful event in trying times. Well done. Please pass on both Mike and my thanks to all involved, with very special thanks to all the volunteers who make this possible - and who made it possible for the dream of a 10year old boy to come true. I want them to know how much that means to me. Best Rgds, Scott Beckwith 2020 Forest Rally Champion Co-driver. (Photo Credit by Matt Jelonek)

12.01.2022 Update from Car #17 Steve Dixon / Paul van der Mey "Can you please let Ross and whoever else needs to know that I am fine and after being checked out at hospital was released with no issues just a bit sore and a greatly depleted bank balance. Paul was kept in overnight but nothing to major and nothing broken.... Please pass on my gratitude to all the volunteers and my apologies to all the competitors who where unable to complete the final stage as a result. Steve" Also from Jay (Steve's partner) who offered a big thank you to Lee & Jo Mcilroy (Car #19) for all their assistance at the scene and even staying to the end to help load the car on the trailer. Top sportsmanship! Glad everyone is OK, albeit a bit sore, and with a lighter wallet.
